  • Veggies as snacks?

    So I read in a post a couple of days ago that we are not supposed to be having veggies as snacks. That we should be having fat or protein. Just wondering if this is true?? I often have veggies as snacks. I make sure that I am not going over my daily allowance of carbs,of course. I always make sure that I am having some sort of fat with my veggies like frying radishes in oil, sliced cucumbers with mayo or dressing, or broccoli with melted cheese. I especially do this for a mid morning snack if I don't get any veggies with breakfast. Am I wrong to be doing this? I searched the book, but couldn't really find anything. Thanks so much

    I eat veggies as snacks but to a certain extent...I like my radishes raw, same with cucumber, cauliflower...celery and the only dressing I use is bluecheese. All that fat makes me naseous. HOWEVER, most people would say adding fat to them is good. I think I eat enough fat in my other meals. Just depends.

      You can snack on veggies as long as you don't go over your 3-cup limit (for those in Induction) and you eat them with some fat, to avoid a blood sugar spike.

        Thanks so much!!! Yes, I am making sure to not go over my three cup limit. I am so glad to hear this. I was so worried after reading that post that I was doing something wrong, as I have been eating veggies as snacks ( with fat) for 6 weeks now!! Thanks again!

          This is the first I've heard you need to eat fat with your veggies. I guess I missed that in the book.
