  • z carb bars

Has anyone ever heard of these LC candy bars? If so, are they o.k? The ingredients are:

real chocolate, ERYTHRITOL, inulin, cocoa butter, calcium carbonate, milk fat, sodium caseinate, soya lecithin, almonds, natural flavors and sucralose

    They list zero impact carbs.

I would try to limit these to rare occasions. But if you are going to have a sugar alcohol, these and Hershey's One carb bars are the best. The peanut butter Z carb bars are very good, along with the dark chocolate macadamia nut bars.

Erythritol is one of the best sugar alcohols to consume because it has a glycemic index of 0, where maltitol has a very high glycemic index...can't remember the number at this time, but think it was higher than an orange, or even worse.

Again, I'd be careful with any of these 'substitute' candy bars. For me, I started having them on occasion, then it became a daily habit, where after dinner I'd have one. Then it got to be where I would start craving something sweet after dinner every night, whether it was a Z carb bar or sugar free jello, or a soda with cream. Felt like I was back to the carb cravings, so I quit eating them all together.
