    Hey everyone,

So far I have been in induction for 2 weeks and a half. I have lost 9 pounds and I love it. Everyone can tell and my trousers are so loose.
I am in the time of the month and I usually get the CHOCOLATE cravings, ALWAYS!!!! So today I decided to have a snack, a piece of taost with peanut butter and a diet hot chocolate made with water. Its was lovely and thats was it, went back to my induction meal for dinner. I felt so well. It was like my body was asking for a bit of chocolate.

Does this ever happen to any of you at that time of the month????

I have been doing great, but I needed that. I just hope I don't gain too much. I really will keep my head positive and keep on going!!!!

    Thanks

my body doesnt ask for chocolate, my hormones do, and personally i've got too much at risk to listen to them.

Exactly, I meant my hormones then, thanks. I just need 15lbs to lose to be my ideal weight.

Congrats on your loss so far! That's great!

Whenever I crave something like chocolate, I make myself a cup of tea with cream and sweetner and it usually takes care of it.

You probably won't gain any weight because of your little indiscretion but it's best to not give in to the things that made you fat in the first place. We all need to kick the sugar habit so we can get our metabolism working right.

If you have only 15 more pounds to go, why are you still on Induction?

Also, it's hard to say what that "cheat snack" did to you. A piece of toast has anywhere from 10-25 net carbs, peanut butter has approximately 4 net carbs, the diet chocolate drink has about 3 net carbs. So your snack was worth 17 to 32 net carbs. If your CCLL is 20, you blew it on that one snack.

              Re: Cheat snack

I know what you mean. I always had a bag of peanut m&ms in my freezer (they might still be there) just for ttom. I would have like 5 m&ms a night during ttom and none the rest of the month so they lasted a long time.

I have had one period since starting Adkins and I made me some whipped cream with a little cocoa powder whipped up with it and a little sweetener. I then froze it. I ate a little every night I was wanting something chocolate. After ttom my cravings where gone and it never cheated.

(I even tried to immitate my favorite ice cream and it worked pretty well...Mon Cheri icecream - Cherry, Chocolate icecream. My version - Cocoa Power, cherry flavoring, whipped cream frozen ...yum and all legal)

No, that is not what she is saying.

CCLL = Critical Carbohydrate Level for Losing = The highest number of net carbs you can eat and still lose weight. The goal is to eat as many "good" carbohydrates as your body can tolerate without interfering with weight loss or getting your blood sugar out of whack.

You seriously need to read the book, and in the mean time, read the stickies at the top of each of the forums. There is a very specific order and timeline for adding back nutritious carbs. As Megs indicated, with only 15 pounds until you reach goal, you should have already moved from Induction.

I've read the book, but that was like 5 years ago. I still have it but I read thru it. I am still in induction because I just started 2 and half weeks ago, so far I am 9 lbs lighter now, 15 to go. I just feel i can do induction for a whole month.
Like you I am 5"2.5 but weight 135. I am keeping it 20 grams a day but what do you think my CCLL should be then?

Then I suggest that you re-read it. I have read it several times, and always get something out of it. The questions you are asking are explained fully in the book. And the stickies at the top of each forum contain a wealth of information, too.

There is no way in the world that anyone can tell you that. Age, metabolism, activity level, and other factors come into play. Each of us is so unique, that you can't compare between individuals. In my opinion, OWL (Ongoing Weight Loss) is THE most important phase of Atkins. It is when you learn what your individual food intolerances are, and what your individual CCLL is.

                        Re: Cheat snack

Well Fab, If you do Induction for the whole time and fail to move up methodically adding foods back in in their proper order, you will never identify the individual foods that set you off on your eating and you will never identify the CCLL (the number of grams below which you can still lose). That number is critical of you are going to maintain your loss for any length of time. I suggest you move to rung one or two now and start the learning process. Otherwise you are likely to return here at some later date having gained your lost weight back plus a few more. Please go back and reread your book again. It is laid out as it is for a reason.

Everyone is different ... that is why people have different metabolism. You need to do the work and go through OWL as Dr. Atkins describes in DANDR 2002. No one can tell you your CCL.

When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.

If that's true then why did you cheat... Are you going to cheat every single month when TOM comes to visit?

You need to make up your mind what is most important to you...

I came to this forum for help and understanding and sharing my experience on Atkins, not to be told off. This is stupid. We are all going thru Atkins and we are not perfect, we all have our ups and downs and we should support eachother not Judge.
