  • BUMMED OUT! Gained a pound

This is my SECOND week on Atkins and I'm following it 100%. I don't even eat 20 carbs a day and I weighed myself this morning and GAINED 1 pound. I wonder why? BOO HOO :anger

a lot of reason, you could have more water in your system, or pardon me for being blunt but maybe you were less hyrdated last time and you had used the rest room 1 and 2....also depends on your clothes if you weigh in them. I wouldn't worry with 1 pound. I don't know how the female body reacts but possible starting to retain water? Plenty of possibilities, stick to it and Im positive it will drop off again with a few more of its buddies

    Keep at it!!! :joy

Close to TOM, eat a lot of salty foods or beef, all of this can contribute. If I woried about the scale fluctuating I would have died a long time ago. I can go up 4 pounds in a day but, I always know it's not due to something I did it's my body and this is the wonderful thing about being a woman constant weight changes. Hormonal, salt , water retention who knows, we just ahve them. DOn't worry I'm sure well positive ut will come off.

Please be sure to measure as well cause sometimes your body will gain but, lose inches the measuring is so very important I cannot stress it enough. Measure it'll keep you sain.

The same thing happened to me and it was because of a TOM attack. I gained a pound but I had lost inches. Not only that but the scale is a liar, it doesn't differentiate between fat and muscle. So if you've been doin your excercise, it could be muscle build instead of fate gain.

I weigh myself first thing every Monday morning. Is TOM - time of month? If so, nope it's not that.

Beef? how does that add to it? it's one of my favorite meats if not the most favorite for me and we have a lot of it in the house....i'd hate to think it has a similar sort of effect as ham does (being salty) and making me retain water....

I think she was meaning saltbeef - not ordinary roast beef which should be fine.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Sodium ... read every label for the sodium content. Bacon is huge on sodium.

Invest in Morton Lite Salt rather than table salt .. 1/3 less sodium, same great taste, plus potassium which we need anyway!

Weight fluctuations are QUITE NORMAL ... limit the times you step on the scale and you'll be happier.......

                            EXERCISE!
