Hopefully, you will find yourself missing them a lot less once you have kicked the habit. There are things I miss, I admit, but I feel so much better without them it is more than worth it.

You can do it. I've been craving those last two snack snack cakes I buried in the back of the cabinet. Everytime I get a craving for it and my mouth starts watering I have a glass of water or pop an olive or two and I feel so much better for it. So yes- please rely on us to help you get through the cravings. You're doing something huge for yourself and once you get your insulin stabilized you'll find that you're not going to be craving like you currently do. Buckle up, the next two weeks might be rough- but you'll be stronger and healthier for it. Congrats!

As a long-time low-carber, I want to assure you that if you really work at this, your tastes will change and you will feel so much more in control. There are no two ways about it. Sugar makes you crave more sugar. Get it out of your life and you'll enjoy real foods and the cravings will diminish.

Before I started, I was seriously addicted to carbs, especially bread and chocolate. I ate pounds of Hershey's Kisses with Almonds and I felt so out of control. Every morning, I woke up and asked myself, "What am I going to do about my weight today?" You know what? It wasn't very long after I started Atkins that I started waking up with a feeling of relief that I WAS doing something about my weight and that it was working well. It wasn't too long before I no longer craved the things I used to binge on. I never even think about those foods anymore. To me, they're poison.

So, hang in there. You'll get there if you really make this a WOL.

My group at work is going out for Coldstone creamery for lunch today. This is killing me.
