  • Help! Need to be accountable....

So i haven't been real happy with my weight loss so far. I am still in induction, and following everything the way i am supposed to... except one thing - I have had one diet coke each day. I know i need to give it up - and every night i promise that i am going to - but then give in the next day thinking- "it's just one diet coke!"

So i am stating for all to hear... "I am going to quit the diet coke for one week to see if it makes a difference" - pls help me to be accountable. Also, if you have any experience with your results after giving up diet soda - pls share with me!

    Thanks in advance!

I know what you are going through. Before I started, I drank nothing but soda. Now I don't drink any at all! I have found that if you drink more water, it helps! I drink from 120-160 oz of water each day, and I don't think I could drink anything else now!

Good luck to you! I hope you find what works for you!

If you can quit it for long enough, you won't want it anymore. I was a diet vanilla coke girl, but no more. Wouldn't even enjoy it if I drank a sip. Water is better!

Accountabilitiy is a good thing, hang in there!

I love 'em but can't have 'em. They stall me for sure and cause cravings. I actually gained weight when I first started drinking them [pre atkins]. My weight loss continued after I gave them up.

First I went from diet coke to caffeine free diet coke... got over the caffeine withdrawal headache... then I went from CFDC to crystal light... got off of the carbonation... now I'm switching from crystal light to water... baby steps for me...

Yep just keep making it more and more dilute, msangelpie.

Grayson's mom, you could do the same thing. As you water the Coke down over time it becomes less tasty (even king of gross) so if the choice is dilute Coke or water, water will win. But the real thing is to retrain your tastebuds away from sweet flavors and the only way to do that is quit cold turkey for a month or so. After that you really don't want one very often. When I really have the hankering for a sweet taste maybe I will have one but 9 times out of ten I will choose water now.
