I have gone on to OWL since adding veggies might be the anwser to my losing weight. Yesterday I did 25 carbs. Spinach 1 cup, cauliflower 1 cup and 1 large bowl of salad with traces of green pepper and celery. The usual 4-6 ounces of meat 3 times a day. Ratio are good, I was still in Ketosis and walked a mile each day all week. I am on the water challenge and have all but stood on my head to move this scale. Any suggestions will help. should I continue to add more veggies? I know I am metabolic resistant and I am also diabetic 2. I have reduced my sugars to normal and also have reduced my meds. Everything looks great but the scale. My books pages are falling out.

Have you been exercising..also from drinking lots of water that might be holding the weight just for now.

Sweeten -- you are doing fine -- you won't loose quickly because of the medicine you are on but you are doing everything so far that is good. You might want to post your daily food on Review My Menu - Atkins Diet to see if there is anything you are eating that might be a problem.

Keep walking and drinking - the exercise and water are great!!

        Sweeten,

My suggestion to you is to throw out the scale. You are getting healthier, hopefully feeling better. I would check my calorie intake if I were you but I doubt that the calories are the culprit. You are doing everything right but you know that you are resistant and I do believe age plays a part as well in our losses. My suggestion is focus on doing things right for a full month and don't weigh until then. Keep adding a bit to your walk each week and try to go a wee bit faster each week. Keep doing what you are doing.

It took me three months to lose 15 pounds and I work out like a bandit 60- 90 minutes 5 days a week, including 4-5 miles three times a week, weights (heavy) twice a week or more, and 2 pilates classes and swimming. If you lost 13 pounds in 5 months with your age and activity level you are doing fine and can probably expect a drop soon, but you know the saying, "a watched pot never boils". So concentrate on doing things right and hide the scale. Heck even if you never drop another pound you are still healthier than you were--try to focus on that instead of the numbers.

Are you losing any inches? When was your last loss?

It's not about the results. Its about the process.
