Re: My son on Atkins..
Keep at it. Might I suggest you not weigh him every day? For me, daily weighing was terribly traumatic and disappointing. I now weigh once a week, and that's it. I've liberated myself from the scale and while it's still important, the daily fluctuations, up or down, don't have such an emotional effect. There are lots of reasons why someone lost fat, but weighs more (i.e. the sodium and water retention from the pork rinds, bacon and cheese he's eating).

Re: My son on Atkins..
hey there!
I'm definitely no expert or anything, and I haven't been doing this nearly as long as some people on this forum but I'd suggest to go a day or 2 (preferably forever) without the Pepsi (even though it is made with splenda).
It could be stalling him. Also, more water and veggies. Some people also stall with cheeses so it's all trial and error. Go a day or 2 without certain things that are supposed to be limited and see how things go. I know Pepsi with Splenda was a HUGE problem for my mom who had a lot of weight to lose. If she cut it out, the weight fell off.
Other than that, don't get frustrated! It's a learning experience!

Re: My son on Atkins..
Sounds good to me!
How old is your son? I'm guessing he is too young to completely understand why you have to do this for him. I know I was never concerned with my health until I was no longer a teenager. Maybe you can talk to someone at the camp about why he cannot have the smoothies. Check out the recipe forum, there might be "alternatives" for the smoothies. I know people are always finding awesome substitutes for the craziest things.

Re: My son on Atkins..
I'd like to show you something. Here's a graph of my weight on Wii Fit. Every green dot is a day I weighed (I often did it daily). You'll notice that the trend is downward, but I regularly yo-yo on a smaller scale. You need to not get discouraged by daily ups and downs. If you or your son will get discouraged by this, only weigh weekly. Best of luck!
