My name's Willy, and I'm on day 7 of the induction phase, and am wondering about picking the right kind of vegetables. We have a lot of frozen vegetables such as peas and broccoli but there are sugar content in these. Are they OK to have, and if not do you have any other suggestions?

Re: Picking the right veggies
there are specific veggies that one is allowed to eat on induction. i've provided a couple links some important sticky's in the FAQ section.
these should help. you'll find that broccoli is listed as one of the veggies on the "other" veggie list. peas however, are not to be added into the diet until one reaches OWL rung 8.
hope the links help. if you haven't read the book, i really suggest it. if you don't have it you can usually pick them up at a used book store pretty cheap, or order it online. this board goes by the Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution(2002 version) also known as DANDR around the boards. until you can obtain a copy, i'd strongly suggest read as many stickys as you can in the FAQ section of the board. the above links should help with answering some of your questions.
best wishes

Re: Picking the right veggies
If the sugar content is only in the nutrition panel under the total carbohydrates section then they are OK as the numbers are for the natural sugar (carbs) in all plant matter.Originally posted by Willy040188 View PostMy name's Willy, and I'm on day 7 of the induction phase, and am wondering about picking the right kind of vegetables. If there is sugar (or one of its aliases like corn syrup, dextrose etc) listed in the ingredients of the packet then it is not OK.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
