  • Are there big differences?

I realize we use the 2002 book, but what is the difference between the 1999 version and 2002? Just curious.

    Re: Are there big differences?

As far as I know the 99 version was a reprint of the 92 version. If this is true the biggest difference is probably in the OWL chapter. The one additional new "discovery" that Atkins adopted in the 2002 was the glycemic index. So the knowledge that not all carbohydrates are the same. In 2002 we get the ladder. (Although the word ladder was used in 1992 it did not refer to food groups just to carb levels)

And there is not clear idea that you can subtract the fibre either. But the rules of induction are pretty much the same. Eat protein and fat and not more than 20 carbs (3 cups of veggies) for 2 weeks etc.

I took the 2002 book from the library again and compared and WOW you are right! So much more. It's hard to picture without seeing the book in front of me so I wasn't sure. Thanks a bundle.

The vegetable amounts during Induction are slightly different as well. But that's due to the fact, fiber isn't subtracted from total carbs.
