  • I am baaccck

    Hello hello.
I am back.. after house shifting & still in transition. This is actually making my head spin (I work 3-4 jobs, so juggling etc)

Anyhow I have a few questions as I can't seem to locate my Atkins book, everytime I am in doubt I just go back to the book and I can't find it

Q1 Before I started Atkins, I was in a training program and I was given the following supplements Flax Seed Oil capsules (For my Omega 3 & 6 as I am allergic to Fish & seafood), Aspace vitamins for women 2x morning, L-Glutamine, 1gm Vitamin C Ascorbic (water soluable) per day. Can I take them while on Atkins. I know the book said to watch out for iron in Vitamins and can't remember about L-Glutamine or any other supplements

Q2 I am happy camper in my extended induction and personally feeling that 20 gms carbs from vegetables & protein is working wonders for my body (I am 5"3ish at best, my body structure is very petite by default), should I still continue to climb the rung or can stay on my 20gms carbs...

Thank you thank you people and I will say that for the first time in 3 years I am 72kgsssss wohoooooo.
    Height : 5"3
    Starting Weight : 166lbs
    Goal Weight : 115 lbs

Motivation is a fire from within. If someone else tries to light that fire under you, chances are it will burn very briefly.

    Starting weight: 75.5kgs
Mini Goal weight : 69 kgs
    1st Goal weight: 64 kgs
    2nd Goal weight : 60 kgs
    3rd Goal weight : 55 kgs
    4th Goal weight : 50 kgs

All of these supplements are OK on Atkins. I take L Glutamine and Ascorbic Acid (Vit C) myself. Flax seed oil has some negative side effects--you may want to do some googling on that.

I suggest moving up the rungs for a couple of reasons.

      1) at some point you will need some variety

      2) moving up allows you to find the carb level where you stop losing weight. This is a critical thing to know for maintenance since going much higher than this will mean weight gain in maintenance.

      3) the rungs are designed for you to add foods, one at a time, so that you can test their effect on your weight loss, cravings, etc. You learn which foods trigger your cravings, which foods you CAN eat without endangering your total WOE, and which foods satisfy you (and these may surprise you)

      4) Moving up does not mean you lose more slowly

All of this information is crucial to long term maintenance and it takes a long time to figure all of this out. That doesn't mean you eat all of it every day--many days I stick to pretty much a Rung One diet, but by finding out what I CAN eat moving up the rungs, I have options for days when I want something different.

      HW (this time) 248
      GOAL ONE 228
      (take 2)
      GOAL TWO 213 (personal goal)
      GOAL THREE 199 ONE-DERLAND
      FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.
