I think I'm becomming more girly. I don't know if its some of the soy based products I've been eating or that I feel better about myself and therefore am paying better attention to myself. For example right now I'm typing one handed because the polish on the other is drying. Any thoughts?

Re: I know this sounds weird but....
When you aren't happy with your body, you aren't going to focus on enhancing it, as you would prefer to ignore it. I don't shop for clothes when I am over 200... but I might need a new closet soon! Since you are on the road to improving yourself, you are willing to be mindful of your body instead of ignoring the mirror!

Feeling better about yourself! I know I feel a bit more attractive & sexier - I actually LOOK in the mirror now rather than just glancing at it to make sure I'm "acceptable" to go out

Re: I know this sounds weird but....
I am also sitting here typing with polished nails, haven't worn polish in many years- I guess we are just feeling a bit better about ourselves- Can't complain about that side effect can we? (have you been buying new make-up too?-I have to say I have)

Started this diet on Sun 4/26/09
50 lbs gone on Sun 9/27/09
Well its been over a year now and I am currently on maintenance and still trying to adjust to the "new" ME. No major struggles to report, just livin' day to day.
What worked for me...http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...y-success.html

Re: I know this sounds weird but....
I know how you feel, I bought lipstick for the first time yesterday and actually wore it. I went to the store for mascara and saw these beautiful colored lipsticks and just had to buy one...I ended up buying 2, plus powder and mascara.
I remember when I lost 20lbs last year and I made a skirt out of old jeans. I don't mean any shirt, a mini shirt. I still enjoy wearing it. Reminds me of what I have accomplished.
It is weird to think back to last year January ( 2008 ) when I was 210! That is a 36lbs loose...16 since I started Adkins. Yay all of us girls becoming girly again.

Re: I know this sounds weird but....
I think it could be a combination of feeling better about yourself and hormonal variations that losing weight causes... whatever... it's nice!

Re: I know this sounds weird but....
At one time I was one of the girliest girls you'd ever want to meet. Then I started to gain a bunch of weight. I am pretty sure I was a little over 300lbs. So I just didn't want to do anything for myself any more. I truly think that this WOE helped turn me back into my old self. I now enjoy putting on makeup an picking out clothes again. So yea, I think that loosing a few lbs and feeling better will make you more of a girly girl.

Re: I know this sounds weird but....
From a guy's perspective here, I've spent $1000 in new work clothes since I've dropped my weight. I normally would spend $1000 every two years.
