Hopefully SunnySmile chimes in here. She opened my eyes up about the benefits of unrefined sea salt over regular table salt. She's a wealth of information on this topic (and others!) but I can't find her threads on this for the life of me.

Not sure about the how's or why's but my nutritionist said that sea salt doesn't affect your blood pressure.

And Slapshot is correct, unrefined is the way to go.

Sea salt is full of all the minerals that Mother Nature put there for us. Nothing added and nothing taken away. I buy it finely ground and put it in my shaker at the table. I also cook with it. To me it has a much gentler taste than iodized salt. It's not as salty if that makes any sense....lol

Taste both. Besides the health benefits, I think sea salt tastes 100% better than table salt.

Ditto, sea salt tastes much better, more subtle, especially freshly ground. Less is more.
