    Re: Who AM I ?

Thank you everybody We keep the yoohoos and hot pockets here for everybody but once I started atkins it was left for the hubby to eat them, of course I should stay away from them and for 3 days now i have stayed away from anything remotely cheating my stomach has gone down which is great! and my cravings are getting less, I still do stare at a cookie for a while lol! I think i gotta beat this thing at home or I will not be able to go out anywhere since everywhere is a temptation.

I do have to change the way I think but not about food but my whole background I am hispanic and we eat rice for lunch and dinner and we eat potatoe for breakfast and plantains for dinner also..it is not a thing in my head it is just my whole being I have to change, we grew up there believing that meat w/out rice is an incomplete meal and that is how i feel sometimes i am missing that one piece, I need to lose the weight I am 33 years old and my knees hurt because I am short so the weight is causing problems, plus I would like to be around my baby..I would like to thank all those that are giving me support.

I had to change my name because my other one is log on in my dad's computer but I can't log on from my house because I have forgotten the email and password I used lol!

Have you tried 'caulirice' yet? Grated raw cauliflower cooked in the microwave or steamed or fried makes a good alternative to rice for dishes that I used to serve with rice.

Here is a recent meal we had - chunks of chicken, onion and tomatoes threaded onto skewers and grilled, served with caulirice and green beans.

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Once you really want to loose the weight badly enough and set your mind that nothing is going to get in the way you will do it. I cook 3 meals a day for my family and don't eat any of the starches they eat - once I made up my mind that I wanted to loose the extra weight I was carrying around I didn't care about their starches anymore. We can eat so many delicious foods on this plan I can't imagine going back to eating that way. Try making a couple meals and feeding it to your family - you might be surprised how much they like it. There are certain meals we all eat here (stuffed green peppers is one of them) - they don't feel like they are "dieting" and to tell you the truth I don't either.

The longer you do this the easier it will get. I am very glad you are sticking to it.

Every year when I first arrive home in the US, stuff like cinnamon buns and ice cream are tough to walk by but with each week it gets easier. In China and Thailand I get a lot of funny looks ordering lunches without any rice--its as much a staple for them as it is for Hispanics but I do it anyway and live with the odd looks.

I make mine by grating raw cauliflower then microwaving it till it is the consistency I want.
