Morning, noon or night, before bed?
    Mix with water?

The Pyllium husk (sp?) can be mixed with any liquid but I take it with Water. Thing about this stuff if you haven't used it is the texture. PHEW I about puked sorry to say that, but when I first mixed it and tried it the texture really got to me because its lumpy and weird. Not much of a taste though, after you get past the texture and just down it with LOTS of water , since the warning says that if not taken with plenty of water it can cause your esophagus(sp?) to swell and your throat.

All in all its probably easier taking a pill. As far as the time.. well its up to you lol and also one teaspoon of the stuff has only like 5 grams of fiber.. at least mine says that, so I did 2 servings of it to get 10 grams.. but it doesn't take effect right away. I guess unless of course you have issues in the area.

      Hope this helps!

        Re: Psyllium Husk Users

I take mine first thing in the morning, at the same time as my supplements. 1 tablespoon mixed with about 1/4 cup water. The stuff floats on top (mostly) and I find it has no taste. Then I drink more water. I have done this every day since the beginning of induction (April 15) and have had no problems in the regularity area.

Chinadoll - I looked for Metamucil pills when I was in the states this past weekend...I only found the ones that were mixed with Calcium or other stuff (heart health formuls or something). Do they have ones that are just plain psyllium husk?

I mixed mine with mayonnaise and chopped celery!! No way could I get it down mixed in water!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Is sugar free Metamucil not approved for Induction? It's Orange flavor and goes down pretty easy.

What ingredients are in it? If it has a 'legal' sweetener you would need to 'account' for that in your 3 servings of sweetener a day.

I looked online and the info I found shows 2 net carbs per teaspoon dose of it after you deduct the fibre - also it is sweetened with aspartame.

Yours might be a different brand maybe but do check both the nutritional info as well as the ingredients just to be sure.

Mayo and Celery???? Do you take that by itself or mixed with maybe Tuna or Chicken or something?
I might try that with Tuna and Mayo.

Any other creative ideas for this?

Jeff, which ever way you approach psyllium, it always tastes ghastly and has a weird gritty taste. Bet if you mixed it with water, let it stand then freeze it, you can use the ice blocks for construction. You could drill the blocks, saw them, do whatever to them for construction purposes. That would have helped Churchill's WWII effort in building ice aircraft carriers. Google that one up, he really liked the idea of aircraft carriers made of ice.

                        Good luck colon cleansing...

                          Ice Blocks?
I have been taking it with water. One eight ounce glass of water and then another 8 ounce water chaser. I am getting used to it but there's got to be a better way (maybe).
I may try the mayo with tuna, followed by a water chaser.

Does anyone take it after each meal? I was wondering if that is too much on our insides?

Do you mean 1tsp three times a day rather than a tablespoon all at once? I think 3 tbsps a day might be excessive.
