Does anyone belong to an Adkins group that meets up live?

I am wondering if there are groups of Adkins dieters that meet weekly in person.

The board is great and you can get support anytime, but I am wondering if some people also belong to live groups.

    Thanks

Generally speaking, ATkins is looked down on by many of the traditional weight loss support groups. But having said that I expect there might be groups of low carbers on the various versions (ATkins, South Beach, etc) out there.

I've been looking for a group like this for a while. I've actuially considered starting one but not sure how to go about it and even if it would be successful.

I imagine there are probably low carb support groups in the larger metropolitan cities... as far as little towns... the neighbors and I count as a 'group'

There is a website somewhere for arranging meetings between people interested in all sorts of ideas/hobbies and interests that might give you soem ideas. If I can find the bookmark for it I will post it here.

However - make sure you look for 'Atkins' rather than 'Adkins' or you might find people are interested in something different.

www.meetup.com is the site I was thinking of.

As yet there seems not to be an Atkins group in your area but you could always start one up.

We had a meetup here in the south of England a few years ago btw. A few of us met for a stroll, lunch and an afternoon bowling session and great fun was had by all!!
