  • Sick, sick sick...blargh.

I restarted induction, per my doctor because he thought it would be a good boots with some hormonal problems I had going on and because I had stalled. So I did. Started getting allthe tell tale signs of induction flu.

2 days later I still cant stomach even the thought of anything fried, greasy, meaty nothing. Not even a salad or eggs. At best I have been able to keep down diet Sprite and I had a really small amount of cream cheese yesterday.

    He said thats not enough.

So he said just try a bit of carb smart so you can get something in your system.

I did, and the suagr alcohols have wrecked me, but its the only thing that has kept my head from spinning. I have never experienced anything like I have eating Carb Smart icecream. Running to hte bathroom...stomach gurgling LOUDLY....and etc.

Plain scrambled eggs dont event work, I tried a bit of bacon and urped and bured for hours.

Not done the right way...but I've lost 4 lbs in 3 days. I just can't stomach food, I am so nauseated. No...I'm not pregnant either.

Has anyone gotten really sick from a virus while on it...and also...have you ever been urped out by CarbSmart Icecream?

I'm in induction, so all of the low-carb packaged foods are off-limits for me, but getting sick is no fun, fat or thin. Follow your doctor's instructions even if it means coming off Atkins for a week. Get your body back to health and then reclaim ketosis.

    Success!

Well I have been on it since May 15th, and have lost 34 lbs thus far. JUst I had a breif bit with my hormones that caused me to fluctuate ....now starting again on Induction its cleared that problem up. Now...I've found myself with some virus and he said he wants me atleast doing ice cream.

The carb smart....omg. That is the worst thing ....I dont know if its sugar alcohols...or the virus.

Probably the Carbsmart hit you harder because your stomach was empty already. I know what you are saying. When I am sick this WOE is unappealing. How about some chicken soup with some veggies cooked up in it?

Oh I did hit a mini goal of 268 and fit into an 18/20 dress even over my jeans without stretching it. Totally side note...but I am afriad of losing that is I stay on liquids too long with this virus.

Pan saute some cut up chicken breasts. Remove. Then I saute a bunch of onion and celery in a pot, add the chicken and about a quart of broth (I use College Inn, Swanson). Toss in chopped zucchini or yellow squash, a can of chopped tomatoes, a heavy dose of parsley and a good shake of celery seed and pepper (don't need salt with the broth). I also add green beans, cabbage, whatever other veggies might work. Simmer for an hour and you are done. You can sprinkle a little parmesan over it for a little extra flavor.

Oh thank you! That sounds so good. Next time if this happens, I will do that. I think I will do it for supper tonight. That way I'm not over loading on dairy which seems to only make things worse with sugar alcohols involved.

                    Thanks )

When I first started with Atkins the first week I spent more time in the bathroom than in any other room in our home. It sounds like you had a virus nothing to do with Atkins. I'd get more solid food in your system now that you are feeling better and throw the ice cream away --

I checked the ingredients in the vanilla and seriously, I wouldn't eat the stuff...I can't pronounce most of the frankenfoods in it -- so it's not going in my body!
