  • Recipe Ideas For Flax Meal

I am wondering if anyone has any recipe ideas using Flax Meal. I have heard that you can make "bread" as a substitue for hamburger buns, crackers etc.

Any recipes would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

You can search for 'flax cookie' - I think that is what you are looking for. Please be aware that Flax seed (& therefore flax meal) is limited on induction.

An induction legal bread substitute is the 'revolution roll' (recipe is in the book) or the "oopsie" a modification of the revolution roll.

here is the flax bun recipe:

          1/2 t. baking powder
1 egg (beaten until it was foamy)

Re: Recipe Ideas For Flax Meal

here is another -- honestly I didn't like either of these and I tried them a couple times each....the color was a little green looking to me and really put me off. I use lettuce leaves as my "bread" or I boil cabbage leaves (just enough to make they pliable) and use them. There is a recipe for oopsie rolls but they were too eggy tasting for my taste (and I love eggs). You will find what works for you.

            Flaxseed Bun

            4 tbsp flax seeds
            1 egg
            1/2 tsp baking soda
            2 tbsp melted butter

mix all - microwave for 2 minutes. cut in half for a bun - put toppings on for a crust. it's

              here's the Revolution (oopsie) rolls

              Revolution Rolls (Improved)

              4 egg whites
              1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
              3 egg yolks
              3 packets Splenda
Pinch salt , pepper, onion powder & garlic powder
              3 ounces cream cheese, softened

Beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff. In another bowl, beat the egg yolks, Splenda, salt and cream cheese with a mixer until smooth. Gradually fold the yolk mixture into the egg whites being careful not to deflate the whites. Spray a baking sheet or muffin top pan with cooking spray. Divide the mixture into 6 mounds then flatten them slightly. Bake at 300ยบ 30 minutes or until lightly browned on top but soft and not dry and crisp. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes then cool completely on a rack. Store in an airtight bag in the refrigerator.
