  • Winter Squash...

    Just curious when we can add winter squashes, acorn and butternut squash?

    Never mind... seen acorn listed as rung 8... I never realized it was a starchy veggie.

    I also thought of the acorn and butternut squash in the same family as pumpkin? But I know pumpkin is an introduction veggie. Any idea on this?

    Also is Parsnips on Rung 8 as well?

    A lot of us got caught out by not knowing which squash is a summer one and which is a winter one

    Another one which now and again people on ADBB misjudge is swede (rutabaga in USA) which is more starchy than turnip (on the 'other veg' list for induction) and so is also a rung 8 veg - along with parsnip!
    Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

      Zucchini, yellow squash, spaghetti squash, and pumpkin are more watery textured. Butternut acorn and hubbard are creamy starchy squashes (and I love them) but they contain a lot more starch content. I mixed them up too, at first.
