  • Living the Lifestyle and Plugging Away at it!

I've been so insanely busy over the last two weeks that I haven't had time to post on here. I also have had zero time to get to the gym. A situation which I hope to rectify tomorrow morning. But I have been physically busy. I cannot begin to describe to you all the work I've been doing that I haven't had the energy for before I began this way of eating. I find myself comfortable with my eating lifestyle, its satisfying and I'm not usually hungry. So I just keep plugging away at it. I've moved up to the owl rung and I think I'll hang around here for a while. I rarely eat nuts but I do like my veggies. I've found new hobbies which I enjoy such as canning all kinds of berries. No I haven't tasted a thing I've made so far but we go out and pick the berries, we process the berries and clean and cook them so its a long process that I find incredibly satisfying. At the end of August I get to go back to school. I've been looking forward to thins since I made the decision to go back. I look forward to going back less of a person. LOL. So this is my new lifestyle. Its insane and incredibly busy but satisfying in a way I'd forgotten.

know something I am. I just don't think about it too often. I know its working but I dont place too much emphasis on how fast i can take it off. I just keep plugging along at it and it will come off.

it's not how much time you spend in the gym it's how much work you get done.

10 minutes in on treadmill with HIIT is same as an hour of regular pace running.

it's easier on your joints, it gets your heart rate up more than normal pace running, burns fat more and for longer and you recover much quicker.

High-intensity interval training - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A study by Gibala et al.[4] demonstrated 2.5 hours of sprint interval training produced similar biochemical muscle changes to 10.5 hours of endurance training and similar endurance performance benefits
it's almost the same as shuttle run you did at school, instead of picking up pace each beep, you just go at 90% for up to 25 seconds, rest for 25 and do that up to 8 cycles.

i prefer to do it on street near my house, no cars around, i already have my starting lines ready

just do a sprint for 20 seconds, mark the lines from start to finish and off you go

i recommend you start with 5-6 for 2 weeks so your body gets used to it. you will be amazed at results.

Re: Living the Lifestyle and Plugging Away at it!

Hi and welcome -- stay away from the shakes and bars (they are NOT legal on induction) - eat a variety of foods, get your fats, carbs and protein in daily, drink plenty of pure water (nothing added), take your supplements and exercise...it's really that easy. Read the 2002 DANDR book so you know what you’re doing.
Check the stickies (information posts) at the top of this page http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/

Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water each day, including:
          Filtered water
          Mineral water
          Spring water
          Tap water

Crystal Lite, sugar free teas, sodas, latte’s, smoothies – don’t count – PURE water is the only thing that counts toward your daily water intake. Now is the time to make changes – stop using these products. If you need a “flavor” in your water float a lemon or lime slice on top of your water

Check the recipe sites also - they are very helpful and will help make your meals so much more enjoyable.

Re: Living the Lifestyle and Plugging Away at it!

not on induction thanks. as I mentioned before I'm onto the nut rung. also I don't use the shakes and stuff unless i'm in jam. I've gotten some weird replies to this post that dont have much support in them or relevence to my orinigal post. I'm a little confused. I'm not new to this whole way of eating or this board. if I sound snippy I'm sorry I just woke up with a huge huge headache and to find out my mothers boyfriend spent the night with her in my house. not a good morning

It sounds like you are following the plan exactly. Keep it up. Sounds like you might have to dig into some of those berries. Soon for me, oh, soon...

                  1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
what the rungs mean to me:
                  rung 1 - more veggies
rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
                  rung 4 - berries, melon
                  rung 5 - wine -
                  rung 6 - beans, hummus
                  rung 7 - other fruits
rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
                  Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range

isnt it funny that for all the canning and jam making I'm doing I haven't felt tempted in the least to even lick the spoon? I'm startled about it actually!
