  • I wanna do this so bad!!!!!

    hello everybody!!!its me heavenly rose,i'm back here again at the forum hoping that anyone of you kind folks can give me all the reasons why atkins is the way to go! i originally started atkins on 9/10/2008 and kept doing it till feb/2009,i did however fall off the wagon a few times,i managed to lose 40 pds,but of those 40 pds i regained 20 i'm so upset i feel completely disgusted with myself none of my clothes fit me!!! I threw away my old wardrobe i swore i would never be 247 pds again!!!! and im half way there again,i know atkins does work i'm just having a very hard time knowing that i have to leave the carbs behind,any suggestions on how any of you completely stopped the carbs and never looked back would be great, i want to do this i dont like the way i feel,PLEASE HELP.....

    Atkins does work you need to have willpower,be determined,aim at your goal and mostly you should want to do it for yourself.I was 283 last july 7th on my bday as that was the day I started the diet and next week is my bday under a year I now weigh 176 thats 107lbs.You can do it just be 100% sure and stay focused I thought this is the last straw and kept going had minor falls restarted always.If you stick to it imagine how much you can lose by next july?

      Sounds like you already know the reasons why you should be on Atkins - you lost 40, you felt better, you felt good in your "skinny" clothes. Keep posting and join a challenge or 2, it really keeps you accountable.

      The carbs will always be lurking, but if you focus on all the wonderful foods you can have, maybe you can push those nasty carbs to the back of the line!

        Look at people around you who may be obese and what kind of lives do they have. Ask yourself what your weight does to limit your life. While the science of Atkins is about eating healthy carbs, protein and fats and changing your metabolism to rely on the burning of fats instead of an abundance of carbs, there are lots of other reasons and benefits to stick to this way of eating.

        So many people have stories of struggle here on this board. They have lived the non-Atkins life and been unhappy. But if you read into the success stories, people's lives have been changed by improvements in health, more active lifestyles, happier social lives, travel, confidence. Personally, putting my feet on the floor every morning is something I do not take for granted. My life is greatly improved and if I don't lose another pound, Atkins has made a huge difference in my life.

          Just keep trying for a clean Induction day every day. Don't beat yourself up if you don't make it but think about why you didn't make it THAT DAY and vow to fix that tomorrow. Eventually you will have a totally clean day and you won't want to blow it. something will click again and you will be back on your way. It took me about 2 months to get back into it. You can do this.

              We can't do this for you ---- so you need to make your mind up and make sure nothing gets in your way....if you have bad food in your home get rid of them -- when you want to eat something you shouldn't go take a walk, do some crunches, pushups, jog, whatever -- when you are busy you'll forget about eating.

              Make small goals (like 10 pounds)and take it a day at a time.....also, don't say I have to loose down to my first mini goal by a certain day...things happen with our bodies and there will be times you might not get to a certain goal in a certain time....there is no golden rule as to how much you'll loose in a specific time....if so, we'd all be skinny now!!! LOL

              Get through the first few days and you'll be well on your way!!!

                Hi, i can honestly say my determination is knowing that i'm gonna be walking down my street with the tightest smallest little pair of shorts possible when i reach my goal weight flaunting myself. lol.You can do it, we all can. Good Luck. x
