  • HELP NEEDED ~ Stuck In A Yo-Yo Stall!!!

Good Morning to all ANA Friends on the Forum!!!
I have been stuck in a Yo~Yo Stall for some time now & I Feel Like Iam !!!

I Have been on the Program since 1/1/09 & have went from 209.4 to 181.4. Iam bouncing back & fourth between 183 & 180 for over a month now!!!

I know that this is normal, however Iam sooo frustrated that I can't seem to break this cycle!!!

Any & All suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I was on another site for awhile & was given suggestions of cutting my calories & carbs very low for a while due to having Lupus/Fibro with a very low metabolism or poss Fat Fast for a while to get things moving again!!!

Please Help & Thanking You in Advance!!!

When ever I have stalled I did a diligent check of my carb intake.Usually found some hidden carbs and dropped them.Insulin controls fat mobilization as we all know.Have to have that low as possible. Are you taking in non-carb sweet tasting foods or beverages? Those can cause insulin secretion. Diet drinks, gum, fake desserts. Are you eating lean meat vs fatty meats?Have that fat dripping off your chin.

Perhaps giving us an idea of your typical menu (eating and drinking with portions) and what kind of exercise you do may help us help you. Are you on OWL?

But I have to say that having done this for a bit now - what you are experiencing is very normal. There have been months where the scale did not move anywhere (small ups and downs) but then it gets going again.

What is the last food you introduced and when did this happen?

When did you increase your carb level? You might have found your CCLL.

Oh, and definitely do not do the Fat Fast. That's not meant for breaking stalls, but for people who are very metabolically resistant and can't get into ketosis and lose weight by eating Induction-level carbs.

Here's a sticky thread about the Fat Fast: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...-fat-fast.html

I'm going through the same thing....it's been about a month. I've gone back down the ladder a couple rungs to see if I can get something going again...I go more for the measuring tape during these times - not the scale.

The link you need to post so we can see your entries ends something like 'owner=yourname'

To get this you need to make your 'journal' public by going to the 'profile' tab once you log on to your fitday account and scrolling right down to click on the 'make my journal public' button

You will be given a link that will let us in to have a look.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Usually I find I have gotten sloppy (like the past few months, if I an really honest with myself) I have also found that I can't lose on rung six. I really need to be at Rung Two to lose and with only very rare forays into rung four for berries and five for wine.

Are you losing inches? If you are losing inches, then you aren't in a "stall" because Dr. Atkins defined a weight loss plateau as 4 consecutive weeks without the loss of pounds OR inches.

As for doing the Fat Fast, you aren't a candidate for it because you are not so severely resistant to weight loss that you cannot lose any weight at all on Atkins.

Anyhow, you are on Rung 6 according to your stats. What is your current carb level?

Are you carefully measuring your foods?
Did your loss slow when you added a new food?

                              Before you retreated to Induction:

                              1. How many net carbs were your eating?
                              2. Which OWL rung were you on?
                              3. Did you notice your loss slowing with the addition of a particular food?
                              4. Were you still losing inches?

By the way, if you stop losing pounds/inches during OWL, there are 2 things to consider:

                              1. You've added a food that adversely effects your weight loss. Therefore, your first step would be to review your menu and remove whatever food you added at the time your weight loss slowed or stopped. If your loss picks up, then you've found a food you need to avoid.

                              2. You've found your CCLL. It's completely NORMAL to find your CCLL during OWL. In fact, that is one of your jobs during OWL---to find your CCLL. So if you increased to a carb level and you stop losing pounds and inches, go back to the last level in which you were losing. If you start losing again, then you found your CCLL. For example, you were eating 35 net carbs. The next week, you increased to 40 net carbs. You stop losing pounds and inches. So you drop back to 35 net carbs and you start losing again. 35 is your CCLL.
