  • why im not losing weight?

    hello everybody,

To start this off with a bit of advise, whatever you do try not to cheat and go off this diet because it can be very hard to start doing it again.I know because it took me over two weeks after i cheated to start the induction phase again and stick to it. but all that aside my question is why am i still not losing weight on this diet? The conclusion ive came to is the medicine im on is giving me to many carbs from the sorbital in it.(to anyone that doesnt know my story im on liquid methadone for pain due to a very bad car wreck)i was going to post all my fitday info but my lovely new windows vista crashed the other day and i lost almost everything i had on my hard driveand couldnt retrieve it. but i can tell you that when im on this diet i stick to the "laws"of it very stricktly.I know it will be hard for anyone to give me exact awsners because of how vague this post is but any input will be appretiated.

    p.s happy 4th everyone

    love&peace

Re: why im not losing weight?

are you eating only induction foods? drinking enough pure water daily? exercising? I know the meds I'm on make it harder for me to loose and it does come off extremely slowly but I do loose inches so that helps.

post your food intake for a couple days -- that will help get your answers.

yes i only eat induction safe foods and i drink more than enough water usaully 6 to 8 16oz bottles a day. the only food i eat that i didnt see on the list is pickles. i eat one or two every other day. but everybody ive asked on this site has said that pickles are o.k and i figured they were since they are made from cucumbers but you never know.
back when i first started the diet i did lose some weight and inches but then i stalled for a while.fell off the wagon.then eventually got back on and have been ever since. One of the biggest reasons i keep eating this way is i feel a lot better when im doing atkins than when i am not.
i have been back in ketosis now for three weeks and have only lost 5lbs and no inches off my body.
i do exorcize as much as i can for the situation im in. i wish i could do a lot more cardio like running and what not but it is impossible for me right now.

The pickles are fine as long as they are sugar-free.

Perhaps you are gaining muscle & losing fat? Are you eating only until satisfied, not full or stuffed? No hidden carbs/sugars in processed foods? Not exceeding the cheese limit?

Kinda hard to say - could you post a menu? It might help

You have lost 5 pounds. and you won't see the kind of dramatic lost you saw during your first Induction because you haven't strayed for that long. Most people's losses slow way down after the initial six week period and I suspect that may be what is happening to you. A complete stall is not uncommon for a couple of weeks. It is called Post Induction Stall Syndrome (PISS) and if you stay on plan it will break in a couple weeks and the weight loss will begin again. Stay off the scale. Keep eating clean. And give yourself a month of concentrating on just feeling better and following as closely as you can.
