  • I have a huge problem

    I am not hungry at all.... the thought of eating now is making me sick.... even the thought of eating forbidden foods..I am not really craving them either...yesterday I tried to eat some grilled shrimp and got sick... my stomach is growlingbut I have no appetite..... I know this is not right

    It is completely normal because you are in ketosis. That is the beauty/ curse of it all. One of the moderators on here once said that now is the time to think of food as necessary "fuel" and not as something we do for entertainment/ comfort, etc.

    I know what it means to not be hungry and nothing sounds good. You have to eat, though. Not only does your body need the fuel, but you also will NOT lose weight if you do not eat the right proportions of carbs.

    Just think of what you can stomach right now and have some. Check out Linda's site if you haven't already. There is an awesome southwestern soup that I turn to when I just can't eat anything else. See what strikes your mood. Yeah, girl, ya gotta eat.

    1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
    what the rungs mean to me:
    rung 1 - more veggies
    rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
    rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
    rung 4 - berries, melon
    rung 5 - wine -
    rung 6 - beans, hummus
    rung 7 - other fruits
    rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
    rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
    Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
    (on to pre-maintenance)

        this happened to me during the second week of induction, i had to force myself to eat some days.

          I am going through that right now! I love it but its weird at the same time. But like the others have said you need the fuel!

            It's perfectly normal -- for the next few days (or weeks) eat something small every 3 - 4 hours....make sure what you eat is good for you -- one time eat an ounce of cheese - the next time have a small salad, then a couple ounces of meat w/some mayo to dip it in ---- eat for fuel to keep your body going....make sure you eat enough during the day but not enough that you get sick to your stomach.
