well its day 3 of atkins and to be honest i couldnt resist a weigh-in. so im down 4.4 lbs of probably water (but its a loss) and i have found small amounts of ketones in my system. so im on my way it seems...hopefully. i have already found myself not being as hungry as before. right now i have my 3 meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and 2 very small snacks in between mid morning and mid afternoon. what if i am not hungry at all? should i skip a meal? i dont know if doing this will mess up the cycle. if needed i guess i could eat a small something rather than skip a meal totally. this way im not screwing up my metabolism. either today or tommorow i plan on installing my exersize plan to the mix. just a recumbent bike of moderate-high intensity for 20 minutes 2 times per day. any longer than this and i tend to lose interest in exersizing. so i did a lil research online and there seems to be a trend of people doing 2-3 20 minute workouts throughout the day and burning the fat. so this will be what i do for starters. if it doesnt seem to be working out then maybe i will consider longer periods. thanks so much

Re: day 3
You should never go more than 6 waking hours without eating. If it's been 6 hours and you aren't hungry - eat a small snack
If you haven't been exercising recently, remember to start exercising slowly - perhaps once/day at first? Also, you should take 1 or 2 "rest days" per week to let your body recover
It sounds like you are doing great!Julie__________________F/37/5'2"__________________Start April 15, 2009

Re: day 3
I agree with Julie - try eating 5 small meals daily instead of 3 larger and 2 snacks....that way your blood sugars won't drop too low and you won't have cravings come back. The worst thing you can do is skip meals - it will mess with your metabolism.
Make sure you are drinking enough water -- Dr. Atkins said 64 ounces of pure water daily (nothing added) -- that will help flush the nasties out of your system and will help with weight loss.
Good luck.Carole_____________________May Water 130oz daily
