  • Obsession

I used to tease girls I knew who obsessed about their weight, or were on perennial diets "just to lose a couple more pounds".

    Ah, Nemesis.

Now, I spend a half hour in the morning entering food items into my internet blog (I use caloriecount) and fiddling with what I plan to eat that day, followed by another half hour in the evening reviewing the day and making plans for the next.

If I continue like this for the next forty years, I calculate I will have spent 1.7 years of that time just fiddling with internet ingredients. I will also have spent 1.5 million calories, or the equivalent of 3000 Venti Iced White Mochas on this activity alone.

Is this normal? Is it just a phase? Will I get over it?

    Born 1967. 6' 1". Male.

Started Atkins 28th April, at 216 pounds. Met goal weight on 9th July, at 176 pounds. New goal is to become trimmer without losing weight.

Haha, that's that Bad Math (as my husband and I call it). You're not factoring in that you'll probably type more slowly as you get older. Also, I really like your idea of writing the foods down in a blog first. I might do that and then after dinner put it all in fitday in one fell swoop.
