  • absolutely NO induction flu

hey everyone -i did the 14 day induction about three months ago..it was my fist time every low carbing, and i had terrible headaches for the first 3 days, but then felt amazing (i lost ten pounds as well) then i fell off the wagon... Im on day three of induction now, and i have yet to experience even a slight discomfort... my hunger has completely disapeared, as well as cravings!! i feel awesome and i know im gonna stick to this... my only question is... why am i experiencing no flu, when last time it was so brutal? will i not lose as much? did i ruin my metabolism? has anyone else experienced this

    Re: absolutely NO induction flu

I don't really have an answer but i know it happens. This time when I was on induction the only "flu" I got was a bit tired and I am losing at a steady pace. The last time I did Induction I was soooo sick. Just count your blessing!lol

I don't know either but I had the same experience. I had a flu the first time - none the second time.

          Re: absolutely NO induction flu

I've never had it at all - I don't think I ever had any real food addictions, I just liked my carbs waaaay too much!
I also lost at a good rate - was a bit tired in the first couple of days, but I'm frequently tired anyway. Guess I just got lucky, but don't worry, it won't mess with your losing! Good luck!

The flu has nothing to do with your ability to get into ketosis, thus it has nothing to do with the amount of weight you will lose. No worries about that.

There could be many reasons why you don't have the flu this time around:
            • in your off period, you might have restricted your high-carb/junk foods, knowing they are not good for you
            • you drink more water
            • you eat different kind of fats, thus making it easier for your body to get the energy it needs from them
            • you eat more often, maybe have some snacks in between your meals
            • you exercise (more)
            • you gave up caffeine your first time around

              Re: absolutely NO induction flu

I myself did not have induction flu at all - but I had already been eating "healthy" meaning I didn't eat junk food - I didn't drink caffiene - I was already exercising, etc...I basically went from eating the "healthy low-fat/high-carbs/whole grains" way of eating that "they" tell you to - to eating the (now i know is truly the healthy way to go) high-fat - low-carb atkins way...

So I know, for me, because I wasn't eating "unhealthy" junk food and caffiene and whatnot before - i didn't have the induction flu.

I say count yourself lucky! You really want to feel bad? :P
