    should i be taking vitamins while on atkins? If so which ones,and will they cause my weight loss to slow if i take them?

    I use Centrum silver and a fairly potent Walgreen's version. I stagger them, that is, I'll take on a certain day then the other on another day. Watch the iron, it can be toxic. Fat soilubles are also somethinh you should watch. Also, I do supplement with calcium and magnesium from time to time. I doubt vitamins will cause a stall unless you are taking Flintstones Vitamins or something with sugar in it.

      Personally I take Fish Oil & Flax Oil, 2000 iu Vitamin D, Centrum Silver and sometimes I take CoQ10/Alpha-Lipoic Acid/Acetyl L-Carnetine. (however the last two weeks and this upcoming week I've stopped all vitamins due to an upcoming surgery next week).

      But I personally take extra Vitamin D because from everywhere I've read/looked on the internet - Vitamin D is definitely one vitamin that most people are deficiant in - and I'm allergic to the sun (get AWFUL sun poisoning and must be careful...) so I take extra Vitamin D. Plus I have dry eye and aside from fish oil/flax seed oil being good for many other reasons - my eye doc told me that those two help dry eye.

      Vitamins are a good thing to take! And there are some that are supposed to aid your weight loss (not a weight loss vitamin by any means - but they tend to help metabolism...L-Carnetine is an example of this.

      I actually have a few others I want to start taking - but can't do anything til after my surgery.

      Look at the Vitamins forum - you'll find a lot of information!

      In all honesty - I never took ANY vitamins before being on atkins - but I think - and maybe it's just a mental thing - but people who take supplements seem to take better care of themselves.

        If I don't take a multi vitamin while on Atkins I get bad body aches, leg cramps and loss of energy. As soon as I start on the vitamins I feel great again... The fact that they are good for me is just a bonus
