  • STRANGE????

    HMMMM, well I'm not sure what exactly is going on I have had some really strange things happening with my body first off. I went for a 5 km jog the other day and I felt really great. I noticed though that that night I was extremely flushed like hot flashes almost like I had a fever I was so freken hot but no shivers so I know not sick it lasted all night I didn't sleep much cause I was too hot until the next morning when it went away. Then, I am usually up about 5 pounds during TOM and it's weird but, I did not go up in weight this time. COuld this be the end of the cursid excess Estrogen I have been pumping through my veins. Just some weird stuff. Then last night me and my husband went into the city and I had missed eating a meal OOPS no excuse for this one and by the time I got home I felt so sick and shakey and had a headache. I usually eat every 2-3 hours yesterday it was like 5. I haven't had that happen before except when I wasn't on Atkins. I think it was low blood sugar, hopefully I am not the only one with this weird stuff happening. I am sure it's my body dealing with things right now. Any suggestions.

        I am usually a little bit hotter than anybody else.

        Also I have had a couple of episodes shere I got sick and shaky when it had been longer than usual when I had eaten. My mother in law thought that it was low blood sugar since I had not eaten in a while and it went away when I ate. But I had to eat like lettuce and veggies to feel better.

        Not much help I know, but there it is

            sorry I missed this one earlier. you have a lot of stuff going on with that new supplement you added and your cycle time so it is hard to tell what gave you the exothermic reaction chould be something like a premenapauseal flash for the changing estrogen levels could be a food you ate, could be that estrogen Thyroid problem solved itself just to name a few of the known things it could be based on all your previous posts. COuld be something like to much niacin too.

            as to the next day that sounds like low blood sugar symptoms.you need to have your emergency Atkins kit handy at all times so if you miss a meal you are prepared with a backup. They have little inulated coolers you can plug in the cig litter for trips or a fanny pac insulated lunchbox type thing you can carry your foods with you and if you need then you got them. No bars or frankenstuff need be anywhere near your emergency kit. I got nuts water dried fruits seeds cream cheese, pacs EVOO and some dehydrated pasturized eggs, flaxseedmeal and whey PP as foods in mine and yep i have had to order coffee minus the coffee grounds once so i could cook up my cereal on the road when there was a wreck on I40 and the interstat was shut down for 9 hrs and the exit had only a magicmart gas station thingie, so plan plan plan and never get caught.
            Glad you are doing okay. if your hotness keeps reoccurring I'd look at the last new thing I added and drop it for a whiel to see if the hotness goes away and I'd call my doc as he might want some blood with all your med history.

              Thanks 2 Big the only thing different is my TOM started that day I am wondering if that told me of the hormone surge I have read about it now havign had it on other boards and like you said it can happen 10 or more years before anything actually happens in menopause. So I don't think is anything too terribly serious. This has only happened on a few occasions and now I have put 2 and 2 together happens at TOM WEIRD. I also lost 2 more pounds so maybe that is it too a hot flush before weight loss. Who knows.

                Here's another idea that happened to me. I thought it was PRE-TOM (?) but I realized I had been exercising super hard. When you exercise super hard you body releases adrenaline (like fight or flight response). WE are not used to the adrenaline (like no coffee or stimulants) so we do react more than we are used to. Adrenaline causes the release of sugar into our bloodstream, and the subsequent dreaded sugar drop we are also NOT used to. That could be your "hot" and need to eat (like hypoglycemia) reaction.

                  That makes sense too how weird the female body is thanks for the responce I may have to have a protein shake before I jog from now on. or right after.

                    Oh, yea! Definitely, that's what all the muscle people do, eat something to help give you energy! Keep in mind if it's really watery it will slosh around in your stomach when you run and may give a side-ache. Betty would have better suggestions than me about what to eat....Betty?

                      agtually you want it dilute if you need fuel super fast as each of us has a set by our genes concentration levels before the stomach will open and release its contents. and that protein drink after exercise or even before will actualy sit in your gut for several hrs getting digested and not have any effect on your blood sugar level.

                      Since you are on Atkins you do not want a protein drink no matter what a muscle board tells you. they are eating high carb abd have sugar issues you are eating high fat and do fatty acid beta oxiidation for the majority of your energy needs it is the fatty acids being burned up from the low blood sugsar response of more glucagon being in your blood stream. low blood sugsar reaction when working out are because the persons body waited too long to switch to its fat burning system no matter what food as fuel they are using.
                      There is a finaite limit to the amount of sugar our body can store in muscles and organs and carry in the blood streeam for energy.About 2-3 minutes for stored energy for muscles from all Phosogen/glycogen sources so once muscles start working out they send out signals that they are using up the supply and the body should start to process the fattyacids so please start moving them from the fat cells to the muscles that are working out. Muscles that have been trained with Atkins eating stroe extra fatty acids inside themselves, how much extra depents on the type of muscle tissue long endurance running muscle fibers can store the most. Folk who are late making the switch or fail to make the switch and hit the wall as they say have run out of sugar fuel and didn't get the fatburn going in time.

                      When you get what many folk call their secondwind that is your fats to the rescue and you are them burning fatty acids and ketones as fuel till you stop or run out of fatty acids processing sites from the back log of acytel CO-A molecules, yep those 2 vcarbon molecules everybody learned about in bio class in Jr high for the glucosis breakdown of sugar all the way to ATP, CO2 and water.
