  • Met My Second Goal Today.

    Its been a while since my last post but i've been incredibly busy and my husband got hurt at work. Despite all that I have managed to stay legal and on the plan. And today while he was at physical therepy I went to Wal-Mart and tried on pants. I'm now a size 16 in non stretch 100% cotton pants. Okay it is a tight fit but they look great on me when I wear a nice shirt over the top of it. I'm so excited and I had to buy them. Now they are sitting on top of my freezer waiting for the right time to be worn. I'll just keep plugging away and happily eating my way along to my next goal of a size 14.

    On a side note but something that is positive in my life my yeast infections, IBS, and anxiety has disappeared. I'm now free of all medications including Zoloft which had some side effects that were affecting my marraige. (Hubby Is Happier and thats all I'll say on that).

    I start school to get my bachelors degree in Nursing on August 28th. I think with a little hard work and some great recipes, and some wonderful people on here I can get to my next goal and maybe beyond by then. Boy it would be nice to go to the school and have to have my student ID redone because when the picture was taken I had more chins than a chinese phone book. Now I just have one. LOL.

      sounds like you are doing a wonderful job. Congrats on the new pants..I just got a couple new tops last week -- 4 sizes smaller than I when I started - that's a great feeling.

            Congrats and keep it up - Good luck with school and I know its exciting for you.

            I am a student as well and I have a set goal that I started school over weight and I hope to graduate at a healthy weight

            Maybe we both might motivate each other and get to that goal

                  Thanks everyone for the encouraging words. I feel better and sexier than I have in a long time, Including when I did the diet before. For those looking for a reason to hold on look at what this way of eating has done for me. I'm healthier, off meds, and enjoying a healthier and more active lifestyle... I'm looking into roller blades next. Oh yeah and we are getting a pool delivered tomorrow.... water aerobics here I come. Even if I only tread water I'm still doing more than I ever have. And as far as the roller blades are concerned just pray for me that I don't bust in my face!!! LOL

                    Roller blades, wow. You are adventurous! I live in The Netherlands and riding a bike is just the Dutch way. I love it, but I have taken a tumble or two. It is not true, "it is just like riding a bike". You DO forget how, so be careful!

                    1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
                    what the rungs mean to me:
                    rung 1 - more veggies
                    rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
                    rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
                    rung 4 - berries, melon
                    rung 5 - wine -
                    rung 6 - beans, hummus
                    rung 7 - other fruits
                    rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
                    rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
                    Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
                    (on to pre-maintenance)
