  • Are these foods restricted - if not what quantities?

    Hi!

Do you know if we can consume, on OWL rung 1:

    Soya sauce
    Oyster sauce
    fish sauce
    Chilli oil

Also, what are the allowable limits per day for:

    Cream
    Cream cheese
    Olive oil
    Butter
    Splenda

I am counting the carbs for all of these but I just want to make sure.

    Thanks

Depends on the way it was manufactured, which I know it's not written on the label. I'd wait until OWL Rung 6.

    Oyster sauce

Often have sugars and other 'illegal' stuff added. Check the fats in them too. Do not use stuff with hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils.

    Chilli oil
You'll have to read the ingredients. Sometimes it has crappy stuff added to it. I see online that you can make your own...

    Cream
Cream only, not half & half. Limited to 2-3 tablespoons as a "beverage" and 3 oz as part of the "Special Category Foods". But the latter are foods that may stall you and there are certain ways to take them. Check the acceptable foods for details: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html

    Cream cheese
Cheese (of any of the kind allowed during Induction) is limited to 3-4 oz per day.

    Olive oil
    Butter
    No limit on these.

    Splenda
Sweeteners (including sweetened foods/drinks like diet sodas) are limited to 3 packets (or servings, e.g. 8 oz of diet soda is 1 serving) per day.
