Really, no need to respond. I'm really just venting.
I've stalled. Been on the wagon for a month today. 10 pounds down. Shouldn't complain, but WAAAAH, I am. Those 10 pounds came off during induction. (All but two of 'em.)
And now it's TOM. My clothes are tighter than they were last week. And I'm having horrible cravings.
I quit soda and almost all fake sugar. I was a Diet Cok-aholic in addition to tons of fake sugar sweets. (I'm a STACker.) Anyway, I now have one packet of splenda in a cup of coffee about every other day. I also have the occasional BAD BAD jell-o cup. Pre-made from the store.
Guess I'm going to cut all of that out, and maybe cheese. Though I really don't eat cheese all that often. Two to three ounces every few days.
This diet has truly become a way of life for me. I don't even think much about it anymore - present week excluded. Good grief, I want candy and bread, and I'm blaming wayward hormones.
I know from this board -- thank you, board creator -- that post-induction stalls are fairly common. How long should I expect it to last?
I've added a few more veggies per rung one. And okay, if you're going to force me to admit it -- one diet soda a week. Most of the time I can't even choke down a whole can, but it helps the sweet tooth on the rare occassions that it strikes.
Woo. I feel better. Thanks for listening!

I'm responding, because you need to know this.........

DON'T WEIGH OR MEASURE DURING TOM!!!!!!!!!!!

I "gain" 3-7 pounds and my clothes/jewelry seem to tighten up a bit. But it's all water retention and when TOM goes away, so does the excess water.

It's really apparent now in the summer because I wear a bracelet and I have a tan line on my wrist from it. Well, wouldn't you know that when TOM comes, my bracelet can barely fit around the tan line area. It falls about 1/4 inch below it.

So don't measure/weigh during TOM unless you like freaking out.

      Well said, Megs!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Wow! This sounds JUST like what I'm going through right now.

There is light at the end of the TOM tunnel though!

I lost 12 pounds my first week of induction. Then NOTHING for the next two weeks! Rather disappointing, to say the least. But... I kept on keeping on...

TOM came and I drank water like a mad woman. I allowed myself a 'splurge' of one cup of coffee with sweetener and cream. Now, TOM is going bye-bye and I've lost 3 more pounds in the last 3 days.

        Hang tough!

I've been down this path and have to say a big ditto to not weighing yourself during TOM. I forced myself to step away from the scale this past month and it did a great deal of good for my sanity. Weighing yourself before and during TOM is the quickest way to do your head in. Hang in there!!

            Re: Not another thread stall

I don't know why you are so freaked out about the stall, you have 64 lb to lose to reach your target weight. Let's do the math: you can lose 0.5-1.5 lb of fat per week, in a perfect scenario. Averaging |0.5 lb+(-1.5 lb)|/2=1 lb. So, ideally, you can lose 1 lb. per week as an average. Yes, you will lose a lot then slow down, but conservatively, you will lose about a pound per week provided you exercise and follow WOE.

So at that rate, it will take you about 64 weeks to reach your target weight or approximately 1.2 years to get there. So by August-September of 2010 you will have reached your goal weight. So why the rush?

No huge rush, Norm. Well, I guess that's not exactly true! The faster the better, but I'll take what I can get. I'm really hoping for the higher end of the weight loss scale 1.5-2lbs each week.
Thanks for the support all. I needed to vent!

Vent away. That is what we are here for. Sometimes it is good to get those frustrations out.
I have lost slow and I am kind of liking that. It is preparing me for keeping this off in the long run I think.
