Re: Constipation
When people start induction eating, constipation is one of the common problems.
Dr Atkins addresses this in DANDR in the Rules of Induction and suggests several alternative fibre supplements that mght help.
As for the tiredness, this usually wears off after a few days. How many carbs from veggies are you eating? You might need to add more veggies to help give you more energy.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Re: Constipation
The fiber supplements recommended in Chapter 11 of DANDR are flax meal, psyllium husks and wheat bran. Make sure you drink a lot of water when taking these, or otherwise they'll make...... umm, matters.... worse.Originally posted by carpediem_cs View PostI am sluggish, tired, and have chronic constipation. This is the sticky thread you might want to read: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html
Are you eating veggies higher in fiber or just the very low carb lettuces, radishes, etc.? Exercising and drinking water also help. Keep an eye on your cheese consumption (too much cheese can cause or aggravate constipation) and be sure to eat enough fat (has a laxative effect)."Get action. Seize the moment. Re: Constipation
Nice try, Sherry. But Atkins 14 day induction does not allow the foods you mention.Originally posted by sherrylouz View PostI suggest that you have to consume more vegetable and fruits and also whole meal bread. But if necessary, you can used laxatives.
Make sure you are getting your veggies, drink lots of water to stay hydrated and you may want to try some flax meal ... you can sprinkle that on eggs, veggies and lots of induction friendly foods.
When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.

As for the sluggishness, that is quite common at the very start, while your body adjusts. Then, one day, it miraculously vanishes.
