    I have done one thing to make birthdays & other parties 'special' that works for me: I don't make legal deserts on a regular basis - I save them for special occasions. Then, when there is a birthday party, I have my legal desert while everyone else scarfs down cake. I don't feel the least bit deprived, I'm still getting a "sweet treat". And the compliments I get from all of the people at the party are sweetest of all.

    The thing that surprises me the most is how many people (who don't know I'm dieting) would rather be eating what I'm eating - I made myself (& my hubby) chicken and a legal desert for my nephew's birthday pizza & cake party. My sister's husband's Aunt wanted chicken & my cheesecake instead of pizza & cake Fortunately, I had extra.

    136 - No longer overweight (yes, I know this is lower than my goal weight)

      I just spent 8 days trying to get weight off I had lost once but gained back while in the hospital -- I was giving a personal experience and if someone chooses not to take it that's fine.

      If and when a person decides they want to loose weight and keep it off, no matter what, we are here .... I said before I've been to a few celebrations since I started Atkins and have made sure I stay on plan while I'm there. I also went to dinner with my husband on our anniversary and had a wonderful steak, veggies and salad - forgoing bread, potato & cake -- it wasn't as important to eat things I know will set me back -- I am all about going forward -- and on plan.

      Like I said before, Happy Birthday to you early. I truly hope you have a wonderful day and a great year ahead of you.
