Have you posted your menu in the 'review my menu' section? Experienced people can look it over & make suggestions. Include quantities for everything that you eat & drink as well as the amount of exercise that you are getting and your stats...I'm sure someone will be able to help you

Raylay can you run your menu through fitday and see what kind of numbers you come up with. I have read it but without knowing how much you eat of the different things you list I cannot really help

Re: 9 Ibs in three weeks....about to give up!!!

Ok, here's my perspective. I've searched and read all of your old posts.

You're only 3 weeks in. You're upset with 9 pounds??? I have several friends here who would sacrifice some fingers to lose 9 pounds in 3 weeks.

You did at one point consume a cheat meal. That can mess you up for quite sometime. Just ask me. I did it at Easter. I suffered consequences and no progress for 2 or 3 weeks.

You did Atkins when you were 16 years old and managed to successfully drop 75 pounds in 5 months. That was a huge success and quite frankly, you dropped a HUGE amount of weight VERY quickly.

Wow, you sound a lot like me. So don't be offended when I write what I'm about to write, eh? If I were you, I would be p!ssed about the slow losses considering what I experienced last time I was on Atkins. I would question why things were going so slowly compared to four years ago! After all, it happened with such ease just four years ago. Well, let me tell you! It's four years later and you can go over to the STAC (Second Time Around Club) forum and ask anyone there, "Who is losing faster and easier their second time around on Atkins?" I'm guessing you won't get the answers you want to hear. I know you're still very young but most of us find it does get slightly more difficult the older we get. I'm betting your hormone levels are different than they were just 4 years ago. By the way, where are you in your monthly cycle? I've found I lose like a mad woman for 2 weeks out of the month and then stop and sometimes gain a little for the other 2 weeks, PMS week and ToM week. You see, there are so many factors.

Your goal is lose slightly more than I've already lost and I restarted December 28th. I just went to the kitchen to grab some water and passed a mirror when I came to this desk to finish typing this. Let me tell you what I saw in the mirror. Compared to what I looked like in December, I just saw the reflection of an itty bitty pretty girl. I am looking hot. I look and feel sexy again. I didn't do it in 5 months. Wish it would've been that fast, but it wasn't. Now, ask me if I wish I had just quit a few weeks in because it wasn't moving fast enough for me. NOPE!! I wouldn't trade any part of my journey because all of it got me here, where I am right now. I am loving this new curvy sexy body. I love every part of what I have done for myself with little help or support from those around me except for the help and support I come to this board for. It was worth every single frustration, every , every , every time I felt like this . Every bit of the journey was worth it...both good and bad. My advice to you? Hang in there!!!!! Just keep doing what you're doing. Ask and take the advice you're given here. We want success stories. That's what we're here for. Perhaps you should start a thread asking what longtimers and successful Atkineers thought might have broken a stall for them or kickstarted their weight loss but DON'T, DON'T, DON'T come here and say you're only 3 weeks in and you're disappointed with NINE pounds!!! NINE POUNDS IS GREAT!!! You're doing it! You've set things in motion to realize your goal as a reality. Do not kiss it goodbye because you CAN do it. You WILL get there!!

So let's say you quit... and then of course you gain back the 9 lbs... and perhaps some more on top of that... where will you be then? You will be wishing you are where you are right now! You will be asking yourself why you quit, and how stupid you were to quit because the diet wasn't going along with 'your' schedule, but rather the schedule that is best for your body. Which by the way you body gets to decide because well you body is the boss...

Don't think short term... start thinking looooong term. Where do you want to be a year from now? and how are you going to get there? Not by quitting...

9 lb in three weeks yields 3 pound per week. Google weight loss and you'll see you are doing great. At 3000 calories per pound of fat, if those 9 lb where fat, you've burned 27,000 cal in 27 days. That means you burned 1000 calories per day and you are not even exercising. That's 1/3 of a lb per day.

Get moving! You do have time to do some sort of exercise. Everybody does. Let's say you sleep 9 hours per evening. That gives you 15 waking hours. I'm sure you can find 45 minutes out of 15 hours to do some form of exercise.

Also, you are a older since your first time on Atkins and you've probably zig-zaged your weight a bit. I'm sure you messed with your metabolism and it's going to take a bit of effort to get it back on track.

[QUOTE=Rayley;1099450]the only meds im taking right now is birth control. [QUOTE]

Which kind are you taking? How long have you been on it. Just curious b/c I too did "low carb" the totally wrong way with my 20 net carbs being a hersey candy bar... no joke... and lost 99 pounds!!! This time however, my lifestyle has changed and I'm looking for healthy and permenant weight loss... but not having those great things and I'm going at a snails pace.

I have weighed every day almost for 3 months so I tried to plug that in with my cycle of b/c and I'm about 70% it is affecting it. (Am making an appointment with OB and see what she says) I have done Atkins off and on since Jan... meaning try to stick with it, but would be off before I know it. Then jump right back on. This time I was trying with just a little nibble of something here or there and then got Serious on June 18th ... anyway...
my break down is this the first 14 days I will loss about 3 pounds (that is it, in 2 weeks) then the second half I will loose about 3.67 pounds ... However Since April 30th til Now I lost 20.8 pounds!! So that is a average of 1.7 pounds per week... And yes, there is many weeks I really don't loose or even gain, so this is the average.

Best of Luck and just keep moving forward.
                          ~Amanda
It is okay if it takes me a little longer to get there, besides this is where I'm going to stay forever and that is a really long time!!!
