Re: What if...
Wouldn't that be more like the Atkins 72 program? I have no idea about that though as I've just read a little about Atkins 72. Isn't it harder to just eat protein/fat?Originally posted by Mommy2Mia View PostWhat if you don't eat the amount of veggies your supposed to? Sorry, I was absolutely NO help here.

Re: What if...
I have read time and again that the lack of the veggies make weight loss slow. I have also read lots about those who have stayed on extended induction and have stalled who have started lossing again after going to rung 1 which is the veggie rung. Dr. Atkins revised his original diet because he found a more efficient way for us to lose the weight...one of those ways was the veggie thing. They are an essential part of this way of eating.Elsie150

You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it. ~Maya Angelo~

Re: What if...
It slows weight loss, constipates you, and you fail to get the nutrients that only veggies can provide. Do you not like vegetables? Many folks don't when they begin and are surprised to develop a taste for them.
Try them raw vs. cooked or smother them in cream and cheese at first if you need to, but do eat them if you can.

Re: What if...
Thanks everyone, I have been eating my veggies, but today I didn't want to
However, thanks to your advice I made a salad of two cups romaine lettuce with a cup of sliced cucumber and olive oil with pepper dressing and I think that satisfies the requirement. Tomorrow I will spread them out. Thanks again!

Re: What if...
Eating vegetables throughout the day is the best way to eat them -- that helps to keep your blood sugar level so you won't have cravings. You really need to make sure you eat your veggies everyday -- I eat mine before I eat anything else to make sure I get them in.
Good luck tomorrow!!Carole_____________________May Water 130oz daily

It's no fun and you quickly realize you can't do it again.
I know it's sometimes easy to lose track and miss out on them, but it's better to eat them in the amounts you're "supposed" to.

Re: What if...
It's only 3 cups of vegetables you have to eat daily during Induction according to the book. I do realize that Atkins.com recommends eating 12-15 net carbs, which can be as much as 12-15 cups of lettuce---which is an absolutely ridiculous amount of food for 1 person to consume. But since we follow the book here, that 12-15 net carb thing shouldn't matter.Originally posted by Mommy2Mia View PostWhat if you don't eat the amount of veggies your supposed to? Re: What if...
i find this is one of the hardest bits of the diet for me, getting enough veggies in. I make sure i have some with each meal, its easier if you spread them throughout the day. for example today i had mushrooms with my breakfast, 2 cups of salad with my lunch, and for dinner im planning to do cauliflower rice & some buttered green beans.
