  • Water.. Never enough?

Alot of people on here have been saying "the more water the better"
Which sounds good to me, but then I thought about it too much (as I do)
If you drink alot, shouldn't all the minerals your body needs flush out of you as well?

    Re: Water.. Never enough?

your thinking of what happens when you eat to much fiber i find when i eat to much fiber my energy is drained by about 50% but thats just me not sure if its like that for everyone

personally i like to try and keep my fiber at 3-7 grams a day if possible

but now your geting me to think about it as well well i dont think water latches onto your food like fiber does so im sure you can drink as much water as you like

but also dont drink insain crazy amounts of water but no one drinks that much

It's not really the more the better, in the sense that you don't have to drown yourself. You should naturally drink more water on Atkins because thirst is one of the signs of ketosis. The diet also has a diuretic effect.

An important part of the water-soluble vitamins and minerals (e.g. sodium, potassium) may be flushed out if you drink water like a fish. This is one of the reasons why it is important to make wise food choices (e.g. nutritious veggies, not just lettuce). Meats are also good sources of potassium. You should also take a multivitamin.

Some of us need additional supplements (besides the multivitamin), especially during Induction. Often, these supplements are not necessary anymore when we move to OWL. In your case, you've been doing Induction for months and you are only 16. You should definitely discuss with your doctor and check if you need any vitamins & minerals in addition to your diet.
