Really in need of some advice and information, started the cambridge diet and lasted for 1 week but found it really difficult so switched straight to atkins as i have done this before and had good results. I did not come out of ketosis infact the sticks were more purple than before but after a week i have put a few ponds on rather than loose anything even though in ketosis. Really fed up and not sure what to do, whether to try the cambridge again or stick at atkins and hope the weight loss will kick in. Has anyone had a similar experiance or know why i have'nt lost even though in ketosis. Any advice/info appreciated.

Re: really confused atkins vs cambridge!!
Hi, i've been having omllete with 2 eggs, cheese and ham for breakfast with coffee (de-caff with full fat cream) pieces of cheese and ham or tuna for dinner but sometimes would miss dinner then chicken, steak, pork or fish with salad and mayo for tea. have been having pork scratchings sometimes for a snack. I have been drinking water and zero pops too. Thanks for your reply, i thought maybe it could have something to do with having such low amounts of calories on the cambridge then switching to high calories but low carbs on atkins, but i really no.

Re: really confused atkins vs cambridge!!
What are your stats? Do you have a lot to lose.
It is our experience here that some people that come from a low calorie diet (and Cambridge is extreme low right?) and jump to Atkins may see a gain. The body is suddenly being fed and takes advantage of this to store some stuff up - but this a temporary phase.
Not sure about your menu though. It looks like it is still lowish on calories. Missing meals are not going to work well on Atkins - where we aim to keep bloodsugars level.
You seem to not be eating enough vegetables (you need three cups)
Those zero pops are full of artificial sugars and may be stallers.
Hang in there. Take care of yourself. Your body needs care and it needs to be fed and it needs proper nutrition. Find a diet that is long term and doable for you.

Re: really confused atkins vs cambridge!!
Cambridge has various options but is mostly low calorie. Very low. Atkins is low carb. They are very different. The only point of confusion should be which one you prefer and can sustain. Have you read DANDR 2002 to understand exactly how Atkins works?
When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.

Began Atkins 1/4/2004
