Group 3 will tell you they don't see a (physicial) difference in you. And everyone will continue giving you advice on how to keep the pounds off and some of them might even take credit for your loss because you did what they told you to do.
I so agree with this Megs,
Only I can add a fourth group out of my experience. Adding the "group that ignores you now".
The group that gave you a hard time when you were heavy and see that your way worked.
Same group- The enablers that were comforted by your heavier size, that can no longer hide in the shadows next to you. eating their carbville fest. You're no longer their Co-Enabler.
I lost a few associations because of this.

            Re: Advice from friends..

I don't have friends. I see my ex-mother-inlaw, my parents, one of my sister lives with me. But no friends to bug me. I had a friend early on, I dieted and quit going out to eat with her. She owes me money and doesn't call me anymore. I tried making friends on various boards but its hard. I can disappear for awhile if I'm reading a lot and the kids are hogging the computer. I often wonder if people really think before they speak. And some people will believe whatever makes them happy despite all the evidence. Mostly people are happy I lost the weight I've lost, some want me to stop and stay right here. That's the hardest one for me, so tempting to just take time off... Until I can workout what friends are for and find some that do the supportive thing really well, I'll just hold off on having them. lol

My starting weight was 235 lbs and I'm trying to get to 130 lbs.

            1st mini goal: 145! met 12/09
            2nd mini goal: 140!
            3rd mini goal:135!
            4th mini goal: 130!

I drink coffee. I drink when I am thirsty. I am just a low carber. Not on Atkins at all!!! He has everything to do with my weightloss and nothing to do with it, depending on who you ask.

              ~

I learned a very hard lesson about Friends a few years back after my Motorcycle Accident when I had a year long recovery period. People were all nice at 1st with concern but with in a very short period of time most of them slowly drifted away till there was only 2 left!!!

Thankfully I still have those 2 Friends in my life today, one not as much as I would like but I know that she is there for me & I her at a phone call!!!

Whenever anyone tries to give me a hard time about Atkins I just remind then that Iam now off my HBP & Type II Diabetes meds & at this point I have lost 50 pounds in 7 months !!!

I also tell them that it is my body & Iam not telling them how to do anything with theirs, such as quitting smoking, drinking, etc!!!

I also find that most people still think of Atkins as a Program of all Proteins & I find myself explaining the Program over & over again!!!

PS: thanks for the Crap pusher letter I saved a copy of it as well as the link!!!
