    Evening all
    I am into my second week of induction. I have decided to do it for 3 weeks as I had a 'slip' at the weekend. Had a call from an old schoolfriend who was having a get together. Turns out her breast cancer has returned and she has to have a double mastecomy. Shes 35 same as me with 2 sons. So we all ended up having a few wines
    So I have decided to carry it on for 3 weeks instead of 2, so i am in my 2nd week (day 9). I still seem to be giving off pink ketostix.
    I am on day 2 of my 'womens monthly' and for some STUPID reason i got on the scales TONIGHT (not in the morning as i normally do). I promised myself i wouldnt get on until after induction but some little gremlin was talking in my ear!
    I showed 11st 8lb - 1lb less than 9 days ago !
    I think im doing it right, i did it 6 years ago and lost 3st!
    Im just feeling really down cos my belly is still THERE !!! what makes it worse is i couldnt go swimming last week cos little one was ill and this week, well the women thing stops me (i have endometriosis so anything other than 10 mins from home is out this week!)
    Im hoping its the period, and the evening weigh in thats put it up!!!
    I think im going to have a look through all the before and after pics, that helps!

    Oh no, not that gremlin again!!!

    If it eases your worries, on average I gain about 5 lbs during TOM, but these are pounds that disappear fast. Take body measurements (not during your period, because you could be bloated) to see your progress. Your belly won't disappear overnight, but nor will your fat goggles. The measuring tape is honest.

    Those before/after pictures always help. Listen to some good music, relax... I'm sure the fat is coming off.

      I understand! My TOM hit during week 3...so depressing! Like Georgiana said, try to resist weighing. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I'd say a little wine was in order.

        Well, went to bed with Dr A last night (well his book lol), read a few bits about motivation, what to do if not working etc. Had a good nights sleep. I think i overlooked that the 1 thing different since last time i did it is i am on 2 strong medications now, both of which may alter my metabolism.
        BUT Im not letting it stop me - GONE is my treat of 1 glass of diet pop in the evening - GONE are any extra coffees in the day, which could have taken me over my splenda and cream ration. IN is MORE WATER, and an afternoon walk - OUT goes the afternoon nap!
        Im not indulgent - its just my illness has increased my fatigue etc and ive been falling asleep in the afternoon when my youngest has his sleep. AND my tablets are designed to 'calm me' but they also make me drousy.
        Its a lovely day here in Yorkshire today so im going to get on with it, and make a special effort to up the excersise and water.
        I know i can do it xxxx

            Sad as it was for some, I am grateful that TOM is only a guy I once dated! The freedom of menopause!!! LOL

              Worse thing is - early menopause runs in our family, but it looks like im the first one its missed out!! Ironic lol!! Specially seeing as i almost had to have a hysto'my last year due to problems!!
