not sure of how many of you have heard of the movie, "Food, Inc." but it's wonderfully disgusting!
I went to see it (by myself) and - I'm currently listening to "The Omnivore's Dilemma" - I read "Fast Food Nation" years ago
and seriously - I almost don't even want to EAT anything after watching this movie! lol
It's just seriously INCREDIBLE how much food out there has corn in it....pretty much any and ALL processed foods have some sort of corn dervitive in it.
If it isn't a fruit or vegetable that you can definitely tell isn't corn - then it's somehow got corn in it.
I already knew that commercially grown meat was disgusting - but (and I promise not to go into details...if you want to know, or think you can HANDLE knowing - go watch the movie). But seriously - omg I'm almost TERRIFIED to eat meat anymore unless I'm 100% positive it was grass fed.
BUT even after saying all that - the very unfortunate thing is it's close to impossible to avoid it.
I DO try to buy ONLY free-range organic grass fed, etc..but obviously - going out to resteraunts (which we do often) I have no control. (and don't say to quit going out - it's part of our lifestyle).
I absolutely REFUSE to buy meat from any grocery store except for the fresh market (here in indy, which I know is grass-fed) and whole foods.
it's absolutely terrifying the way things are ran.
