  • crystal light

I was checking out a British website that sells low carb stuff and they also carry crystal light powders.
They claim it is carb free, is that true?
So far I have only been drinking water and an ocasional glass of diet soda sweetened with sacharin, but I wouldn't mind a little more diversity for that ocassional glass.
I'm on day 12 of induction and plan to go for extended induction after that.

    Thanks,
elke1007 (who really hopes crystal light is carb free as she luuuuves it)

Before buying, check what is the sweetener in it. If it is aspartame, Dr. Atkins recommended us to avoid it.

        Re: crystal light

In the US the already made up Crystal Light in bottles is made with Splenda but the powdered packets have aspartame. Also remember, the ingredients are chemically produced so don' tuse it in place of water. Make sure you drink the minimum pure water daily as well as your "occassional glass".

            Thank you guys,

I'll just stick to water, I have an alternative and will stick to that.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's true. I personally am a new fan of Crystal Light. I used to think it was gross when I mixed it with tap water but I got a new water processor by Bauer Energy Design and its much better and tastes richer. I was never a big water drinker, but I drink a lot more now. Take a look at their blog, it’s a totally new way to look at water purification. http://waterprocessor.wordpress.com/

We can't get Diet Rite here either, but I have found 3 types of pop available here that have Splenda rather than aspertame - I have no idea if any will be available in Belgium, but, in Canada I can get Diet Orange Crush, Diet Schweppes Gingerale & Diet Nestea Iced Tea sweetened with splenda rather than aspertame. I just walked down the pop aisle & looked at every single box until I found the ones using Splenda...

Are you getting the 64ounces of PURE water Dr Atkins suggests...or are you only drinking Crystal Light? Check the ingredients and count the number of chemicals you are putting in your body.....

I am firm believer of the 64 oz.. but I usually drink more per day anyways... but... I do give myself a little taste.. I do add the little packets to my water about once or maybe twice a day... always checking the contents of the packages, and they are not aspartme (sp?) they are no carbs.. but.. ahh.. some taste!

plus that is how i will get some green tea in myself too
