Ok.. so i bought this scale at wal-mart and its supposed to tell you your weight, water %, BMI, Bone Mass, and Body fat %... Well im not proud to say that i am currently at 242 and my scale says that my body fat % is 58%!! Is this possible? Ive always been somewhat of a muscular girl.. played soccer throughout my life up through high school. Before i had my son i weighed 145 but i wore a size 4.... Im just really stressing about the whole Fat % thing!

Re: Confused =/
Deffinately on the clothing size. With the Atkins lifestyle you will find that a certain weight you will be smaller than you were at that same weight when you were not living the atkins way.iamran

Do you really still own High-School era jeans? Mine would be museum-worthy! 20 years out-of-style - we wore them skin-tight right down to our ankles & really light blue...the 80s kinda scare me nowOriginally posted by pagliaccia View PostDefinitely clothing size. I don't care if I weigh 8000 pounds so long as I fit into my high school jeans.
I think we were rebelling against our parent's dark 70's bell-bottoms. The joke was on us!

Haha, I grew out of my high-school era jeans so quickly, they're practically encased in amber. And yeah, the style was late 90's carpenter jeans and such... *shudder*Originally posted by JulieB View PostDo you really still own High-School era jeans? Re: Confused =/
Hey Julie! Those are back in style!!
Welcome determined!
I'm with everyone else - don't worry too much about the scale - go with clothing sizes and/or measurements. If you really want to know body fat percentage, have yourself measured with calipers. Good luck!

Are they wearing them so tight you need pliers to do up the zipper?? (We were ridiculously stupid...) I REFUSE to go back! I like my dark flare jeans!

Re: Confused =/
Julie - they had a news report last weekend on the Today show how there's a serious rise in all kinds of infections (yuk!) because of the tightness of women's jeans these days! They actually showed a clip of a girl laying on a bed and her friend using the pliers on the zipper!!!!

Re: Confused =/
Lol Julie. I am with you. But I keep laughing when I look at the girls these days and I look at what they are wearing and think...that is exactly what I would have been wearing when I was in high school/college. lol Its just funny to see those styles again.
I like looking at what size I am wearing but it is also hard because no matter what my weight, my body has just changed. So for me it is a pretty even mix of my weight and my clothes size..with a slight emphasis on my clothes size I guess.

Re: Confused =/
I'm not even sure what my size is...I haven't really bought anything new. My pants would fall off without a belt. My underwear actually nearly fell off the other day
I'll buy some new stuff for fall/winter, and I suspect I'll have to again before we go to Mexico in February. It kills me to think I'm going to have to buy a bathing suit that I'll only ever wear for 2 weeks...not that I'm complaining!!!!
When those low-waisted hip-hugger jeans came in, quite a few women were going to their doctors complaining of numbness in their legs...they were wearing them so tight that they were compressing a nerve! In high-school (late 80s), if your jeans weren't so tight you needed pliers & two friends to get them on, they weren't tight enough.
I really hope harem pants, leg warmers and pants tucked into huge socks NEVER come back
