  • I have a problem with Not eating

    I can eat one thing a day and not eat again .. or just not be hungry at all and never eat , i drink tons of water but im kinda in a stall and not sure what to do i try to get my fat intake when i eat but some days its like forcing food down my mouth and ill only eat two three bites.. I never thought i ever say this but HOW CAN I GET MYSELF TO BE SOMEWHAT HUNGRY TO LOSE MORE WEIGHT(doesnt that sound like a oxymoran) lol

    Congrats you're in ketosis.

    What you have to do is plan out your meal. Don't go more than 6 waking hours without eating something. So you might have to make a schedule for mealtimes. Which is good, because that will help you eat regularly.

      This happened to me where like i forget food exists and such. Sometimes you don't feel like a full meal so I would nibble on string cheese while gaming or watching youtube.

      I used to fry up a bunch of bacon strips and then cut them into 1 inch bits and keep them in the fridge so I could grab some later and eat like potato chips. If you get them crispy right, then you get chips without guilt.

      my problem is i can't find my nail clippers. ....

        Ohhh....bacon chips....that sounds easy enough. I'm going to do it.

        Nail clippers.......try looking in the junk drawer.

          I have that alot, so I just eat a boiled egg or cheese, whether I'm hungry or not. Too bad chocolate is not legal.

          Another thing I do is have a protein shake with heavy cream. You're right about forgeting to eat, isn't that weird? I'm glad to hear that it means we're in ketosis.

          Speaking of ketosis, I just recently got diagnosed with Diabetes and the nurse gave me a book to read. Last night I read the part talking about ketosis. It said it was dangerous to be in ketosis, that it means the body is using FAT as energy instead of glucose. It's sad, that as educated as they think they are, it's right under their noses what ATKINS is all about. If the answer to losing weight is losing fat, why can't they make the connection - use the FAT for energy!!!

          Anyway, since I started ATKINS the same week I was diagnosed, I asked the doctor if he'd order more blood tests to see how the diabetes improved after about 3 months, he agreed.

            With the protein shakes, make sure all the ingredients are okay for Induction. Whey protein should not be used before OWL Rung 2.

              That's a shame your diabetes book didn't spell out it is diabetic ketoacidosis that is bad (life-threatening in fact.) During Atkins we're in something called benign dietary ketosis.

              But good for your doctor for being open-minded.

                Do you know of a fast acting protein powder that's good for induction? One that will hit the blood stream withing 30 45 minutes after ingestion, and have a complete amino acid profile. Soy is a no-no for me. It screws around too much with estrogen.

                  I don't use protein powders, so... For what I need, I get enough protein from foods.

                  I wouldn't use soy either... at least not on a regular basis.

                      I've used Isopure LowCarb/Zero Carb Chocolate. Its a whey protein isolate. Its so refined the whey part is history and its lactose free. I found out from fitday that its been totally unbalancing my foods. Half a shake ups my protein and lowers my fats. I am still having a problem weening off of it cause it makes me full. But I love the little bit of chocolate which adds 3 carbs or so a serving. A full serving had 50g of protein. Think about that before you see the price and cry.



                      My starting weight was 235 lbs and I'm trying to get to 130 lbs.

                      1st mini goal: 145! met 12/09
                      2nd mini goal: 140!
                      3rd mini goal:135!
                      4th mini goal: 130!

                      I drink coffee. I drink when I am thirsty. I am just a low carber. Not on Atkins at all!!! He has everything to do with my weightloss and nothing to do with it, depending on who you ask.
