        One of the sites I moderate has similar forum software. While I am not an administrator there, I do have ability to grant access to certain forums which need special permissions for access. Other admin-like abilities can also be granted to moderators on an individual or group basis without making them full administrators. Just a thought ...

          we [mods] have some admin-like abilities but granting access to forums is not one of them. trust me, we've thought of it and asked.

          as for others who are not reading the previous pages:
