  • Fat question

I'm finding myself having to use fitday again to try to get back on track.
But I'm hsaving trouble with the percentages. Right now it's at 58% fat 34% protein 8% carbs.
So what would you guys suggest to get the pertenges better for the day?
My calories for the day is 1350.

Having similar problems. I added more salad dressing and things to try to up the fat a little. But at rung 7 the carbs look lower than I'd expect. Check this thread out, her % look pretty good all in all, if different from induction numbers. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...-calories.html

Georgiana has been helping redo my diet and get back on track. We hijacked this abandoned thread and have been working on figuring out some things. She had some really good ideas for getting the fat up and the protein down. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...at-fast-5.html

My starting weight was 235 lbs and I'm trying to get to 130 lbs.

    1st mini goal: 145! met 12/09
    2nd mini goal: 140!
    3rd mini goal:135!
    4th mini goal: 130!

I drink coffee. I drink when I am thirsty. I am just a low carber. Not on Atkins at all!!! He has everything to do with my weightloss and nothing to do with it, depending on who you ask.

Thanks, Rita. Even though I worked my way up to rung 7, I seem to do better on induction level carbs. Aside from an occassional spoonful of peanut or almond butter, I find eating simple....meat, veggies, eggs, fat, is the best for me for right now.

        Re: Fat question

Those numbers are not bad for someone that is not actually on induction. When the carbs go up, the fat needs to go down. The protein stays the same at about 35% and yours are at 34%. I stay with close to induction type foods, but eat more carbs than on induction. I lost better when I upped my veggies from induction levels.

I only indulge in rung #2 dairy and rung #3 seeds and nuts occasionally, and berries and melon are a seldom treat, but I eat a lot more of the induction veggies than 8%.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

Have you tried higher-carb veggies? Not knowing what you are eating...salad? Lettuce is very low carb (and very low nutrition).

            Re: Fat question

Am not as worried about my carbs as I am about my fat. Was just wondering what I could add in fat that wouldn't effect the other percentages.

No matter what you add to one category, the other percentages will change.

Someone suggested heavy cream. You could whip it and eat it, maybe with splenda. There is a recipe somewhere where you can add a little cocoa and make it chocolate flavored. Or you could just poor some in tea or coffee, decaf if caffeine is a problem.

I just had whipped cream tonight -- I put 3oz heavy cream in a cold bowl and add a little vanilla extract and a packet of splenda.

                      Re: Fat question

If I were to add fat I would not choose dairy as my main source (unless it was butter) Too much dairy can be troublesome. I would chose to eat oils, butter, avocados, olives or fatty cuts of produce.

But I agree with Sunny - unless you are having an issue with losing, I would not fret with the numbers themselves. The percentages are just guidelines
