OK, so I only rode from the trail head at 7500' to the peak at 9500' (about 5 miles of trail). It was still a pretty good workout though. It was a blast and I saw some nice scenery.
It is primarily a hiking trail, so it is pretty aggressive (i.e. rocks), but I made it up to about 9300' before the rocks got too big. I then carried the bike the remaining 200' of elevation (about 1/4 mile of rocks). I'm feeling great and this shows what exercise can do, I wouldn't have thought of this 2 months ago. I was impressed with how well I handled the continuous, let alone the thinner air at 9000+ feet.
