Starting OWL rung 1 today. Am I on the right track?

  • Starting OWL rung 1 today. Am I on the right track?

    Hi!I really don't want to mess this up since my weight loss has stalled on Extended Induction & in fact I have put on a few lbs.

    Today I had for my first day of 25 net carbs:

    4 oz cooked broccoli for my +5 carbs
    3 cups lettuce
    4 boiled eggs
    2 tbs dressing
    2 oz cheddar cheese
    1 oz blue cheese crumbles
    2 strips bacon
    8 oz chicken roasted
    0.25 avocado
    0.5 oz red onion
    2 oz chopped tomato
    3.4 oz raw mushrooms
    3 splenda's
    2 fl oz cream
    2 oz cream cheese
    1 stick celery

    69% fat
    6% carbs
    25% protein

    40 mins swimming
    8+ glasses water

    23.6 NET CARBS

    Is there anything I should watch out for a tweak?

    (I intend to stick to the broccoli & 3 cups lettuce everyday consistently)

    It looks very good to me. If you get hungry shortly after a meal then your body is telling you that it needs more protein, just a little tip.

      I the 4 oz of broccoli was for your 5 extra carbs you should not have more than 3 cups of veggies extra.
      You are overdoing the cheese somewhat. watch that dairy. It creams up on you.

        As Liv said, you actually had over your 3 cups plus 5 net carbs of veggies, but then I bet no-one ever got fat on too much non-starchy veggies!!

          I'm 100 percent confused. So, once you move up the rungs, you're not supposed to eat any MORE than 3 cups of veggies? You're just supposed to eat veggies with more carbs? I'm lost.

            No - eat the 3 cups plus the extra 5 net carbs.

            Some of us stayed on the veg rung for several weeks and added several 5 net carbs-worth of veggies before carrying on up the carb ladder.

            But if you only just started OWL rung 1 then you would be adding 5 net carbs to your induction 'allowance' of up to 3 cups of veg and you listed other veggies in addition to your 3 cups of lettuce and 5 net carbs of broccolli.

              I see you're still following that Atkins.com "12-15 net carbs from vegetables during Induction" nonsense.
              iv read "the fat cells shrink in this diet .they never go away .they just shrink.the fat cells are like balloons and the can beinfated & deflated" if its true so when we.
