so yep i must admit i cheated today. i was doing so good too....i had to have a sleep study done at the hospital last night and all today, i had called prior and asked what they would be serving for breakfast lunch etc...they named off things i could def have so i wasn't worried about it...well turns out...they were wrong!! they didn't have eggs, bacon, cheese like they said, they had cereal muffins, yogurt URG!! i was so mad...and REALLY hungry so i gave in and ate that little blueberry muffin....i wasn't gonna get out of there till six and there was no way i was gonna make it ALL day without eating anything...I jumped back on the wagon immediatly so hopefully it doesn't mess everything up, because the scale actually moved today for the first time in weeks!!! sorry for the ranting!

Good job at jumping right back on the wagon! I think it's what you do AFTER cheating that matters most. 1 blueberry muffin one time isn't going to kill you. It may derail things for a few days but at least you didn't throw in the towel and eat a ton of pizza and cake, simply because you ate a muffin.
so good job at getting back on track!

Actually, I wouldn't call this a cheat. A cheat is when you eat a blueberry muffin instead of having foods you should. This is off plan eating...more like a diet hijack...as you were at the mercy of the hospital cuisine. You had two options at the time: starve or eat what they provided. You had a great recovery plan so I don't really think you should feel guilty about it.

It was a good lesson learned. In the future you now know to be very assertive in your meal/food needs. Think of people who have gluten allergies...they could not eat that. Shame on the hospital for giving you wrong information and I would call someone in charge and voice your disappointment in this situation. If they were serving a continental breakfast they should have let you know and let you make arrangements to bring your own food or provide food that you could eat.

Since this is for the rest of your life, just know that there will always be times when the unexpected happens and you have to do the best that you can. No one would choose to cheat on purpose with hospital food! A real cheat would be when you said to heck with it after leaving the hospital, and you continued to eat crap.

            You did good!

I don't consider it a cheat either... A cheat is when you have a choice between good and bad and you choose bad...

Or thinking... well I already had the muffin, might as well have 4 more muffins and the cereal too... oh and by the way hit McDonalds on my way home...

                that's a cheat...
