  • Nestle Pure Life Water...

Anyone drink it? I know the local food store has it on sale alot and Burger King sells it... however, just curious about it. It has some added minerals and I believe sodium polyphosphate in it... What does the sodium do and does anyone know why it is needed in water?

I do realize when I drink it I still feel thirsty, is this why?

They also have some flavors with splenda in them for the sweetner. Anyone tried them?

It is okay if it takes me a little longer to get there, besides this is where I'm going to stay forever and that is a really long time!!!

    Re: Nestle Pure Life Water...

I'm drinking a bottle of Nestle PureLife right now.

Here is info from the label:

"Nestle Pure Life Purified Water is purified using reverse somosis or distillation and enhanced with a balance of minerals for taste. Contains: Purified water, Calcium Chloride, Sodium Barcabonate, Magnesium Sulfate."

Here is some info from their website:

Every drop of water in every bottle of Nestlé® Pure Life® Purified Water goes through a multi-step process of filtration that involves reverse osmosis and/or distillation. We then enhance the water with a unique blend of minerals for great taste.

Read our bottled water quality report (PDF)

Sure, I realize that I "should" drink all of my water from the tap... and do, on occasion. But I use bottles a great deal because of the convenience, and recycle the bottles. I am fortunate to live in a city with outstanding drinking water, but I love using the bottles in addition to tap.

Forgot to address these 2 questions -

      1) I don't feel thirsty after drinking bottled water, so I can't comment on that. I have heard many members say, though, that once they get into the habit of drinking water (any kind), they actually start to crave it.

      2) I have not tried flavored waters, nor will I. I already use one of my daily alloted sweeteners in my single cup of coffee each morning, and another one in my MUP (pumpkin concoction that I eat for one of my meals each day). We are only allowed 3 servings of sweetener each day, so I only have 1 serving left after those items. Also, I didn't like water when I first started drinking it. Now that I drink it exclusively, I like it, and don't want to train my taste buds to crave other things besides water (which is what I am afraid will happen if I start drinking sweetened water).

If you are willing to make certain that you don't go over your alloted number of sweeteners for the day, don't think it will cause cravings or stall weight loss (Splenda stalls some people, and not others), and continue to get in your minimum requirment of fresh, pure water, I would think that there is a place for it (in moderation) in your menu.

        Re: Nestle Pure Life Water...

Thanks so much... just what I was looking for. I do LOVE water... So no problem there, just sometimes I need a little change and usually will do homemade lemonaide, however, thought they may be good... Glad to find that the sodium thing is okay. I only drink bottle water from time to time and prefer the CVS or generic brand... the others do taste to "chemical" for my usual tap water. I have a Brita water filter at home, and add good old NYC water to it...

Here is a link to a thread that discusses MUP/pumpkin: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...up-please.html

Please note that later on in the thread, I posted that I used less allspice now, than I did when I first gave the recipe. The spices you can use in it is quite flexible.

No microwave - I would imagine that you can heat the pumpkin and cream cheese on the stovetop. Just make sure to use a low heat, watch it carefully, and probably stir it while heating.
